The offline version is completely free with all of the characters, costumes, and stages available for play. Seeing as I don't play online games, I have no reason to pay for it, but I'm almost tempted to buy the online pass just to support the devs.

I will say the menu and controller support occasionally feels somewhat not fully functional and the story mode is only three tutorial stages, but those are my only gripes.

And this game does better tutorials than anyone else. It's an open-ended stage that doesn't hold your hand or prevent you from being able to do what you want at your own pace. It just tells you what's available to do as you go along and then there's some optional stuff and secrets for you to figure out yourself. Really good design.
