How is the most valuable IP in history THIS poorly managed? And this is on top of the fact that 6 months later SV STILL aren't fixed, at all, qualifying rounds for regionals have to be redone because of a bug in matchmaking, and event raids are broken and aren't working right now. TPC doesn't give a single shit about their brand, it's depressing.

Sheer complacency, I should think. They thrive off their previous success, feel no motivation to exceed it, and then end up making games without putting in much effort, because people will buy them anyway, solely due to brand recognition and the nostalgia factor.

Its possible they found a major bug. We don't know the reason for the delay.

If I had to guess, they just did with Home what they should have done with S/V: Recognized that it wasn't ready to ship and delayed it to fix the issues. Where they didn't have merchandise release schedules to keep up with for Home, delaying was an option.

S/V is the only Pokmon mainline game I still don't own. Mostly because I was too swamped with other titles, but the surprising news about the bad quality also has me waiting still.

I just got back from a month in Europe and I have Zelda.waiitng for me so...

Yeah if it weren't for the absurd technical issues and awful visuals, it would be a just ok game. There IS fun to be had, and it was a big leap forward for the series, but it still didn't go far enough.

honestly didn't feel like a leap forward for me. i like the open world, but that's about the only thing that i'd consider an actual positive gain. i quit kind of early on though, so maybe i missed some things.

and i wish they'd just bring back mega evolution. every other gimmick has just been said in comparison. i'd love a balanced mix of gen 6 or 7 and arceus.

A lot of things happen during the 3DS and Switch eras, that are just plain baffling to me ranging from removing the the national dex to firing James Turner (his designs where not THAT bad). One of the things I recently learned about was around this https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2022/09/random-the-pokemon-company-has-no-issues-with-nuzlocke-runs nonsense drama regarding Nuzlockes. Keep in mind this is the same company that puts Pokemon ASMR on their Youtube channel.

Obviously the games are an afterthought. The real money is in merchandise.

None of which has anything to do with "the games are joke now because alternate colour schemes are less arbitrarily rare."

If anything, variations of color and markings should be way way more common

Indeed, possibly also with ways to change them. Having rare colourations available is fine, but having the only possible way to get them to be to go through thousands of the same Pokemon hoping to find one (to say nothing of finding/breeding a shiny that also has the right nature, ability, decent IV's, and any other randomly variable aspects that dictate how useful it will be to actually fight with, though now there are ways to change those aspects that help to make that less of an issue) is just limiting for no real reason.

Looks like Home support is going out tonight, so the wait wasn't that long.

But still the fact that they aren't on top of this is silly.

I despised sword and shield. It's a pathetic excuse for a game. Loved SV, even if it looks like dirt. The glitches are funny, like t posing children in the very first cutscene. I'll take glitches and content over an on rails baby game where each trainer has 1-2 pokemon. SV has some actual challenge to it.
