I don't get offended by it, quite the opposite actually. That shit is hilarious when they use it and actually mean it when they're very angry at me for some reason...

It's fucking stupid and annoying, but not offensive. I wouldn't be mad at someone for calling me it, but I'd lose respect for them because there are so many better ways they could have insulted me if they had just put in even the slightest effort.

About the only thing my uncle ever did that I find funny, was when he was a kid, he was called a WAP by a kid down the street.
He went home and asked my grandfather what it meant...
He told him, so he walked back up the street knocked on the door, and punched the kid in the nose, on his doorstep.

A white person in a white majority country isn't really going to experience this, so hasn't been a thing for me. I've been called other types of slurs plenty, just not racial.

I wouldn't even know. The only racial slur I know for sure is a racial slur is the n word and that's only because of how many memes there are about it.

Online if someone DM'd me or I read it somewhere or someone said it to someone else then I don't care one way or another. Now if someone said that to my face it would be a different story.

Not really. I'm vastly more bothered by white supremacists and the disproportionately-high amount of power that they wield in this country than I am with any sort of white-targeted slur.

As a kid living in LA, having a German last name (even though I don't look white) all the Armenians and Mexicans would call me a Nazi and not let me play with them during recess.

It happens. Cracker honkey etc. Never bothered me though I find cracker hilarious and honkey just boring. I often say this cracker likes cheese cause I do love cheese

white people do not face discrimination on a systemic level for being white though

It doesn't bother me because historically it's never been used to dehumanize me, shame me, and justify systematically treating me as less than human and undeserving of human or civil rights. Doesn't have quite the same sting when the word has never been weaponized against you, telling you to stay in your place and that you're only good for whipping or lynching: real threats, not just ego-bruisers.

Not on a large scale but I've seen some places of business where as an employee you where pretty much fucked if white.

Yeah if anything bothers me it's that. Cause once people slap you with that others just believe it rather if it's true or not

And what's problematic about that is just about everyone has said something that is racist or could be construed as racist.

I think it's hilarious that mine is a plain dry biscuit, covered in salt. I don't get racism, so maybe someone could explain why it's an insult, but I giggle whenever I hear someone try to use it derogatorily.

but mostly because my grandpa (paternal) hated my mom for her race and always called me a "little (slur)" when i was a little kid

Depends on thr place and who runs it. For me it was a burger King. Head manager was white but she only worked nights once a month. All the night managers where black and there was clear preferential treatment. Like I'd get yelled at for talking despite I was actually working while black employees would do whatever the hell they wanted and not a word said to them.

Even got wrote up on a lie. A rush hit us right when it was my time to go home. Not gonna lie I was visibly frustrated and the manager told me to go home. I asked 3 times are you sure I'll stay till the rush is done. Nope got told to go home then got wrote up for refusing to stay.

Another white guy got wrote up cause someone else spilled a bunch of product on the floor. He wasn't even in the room when it happened. But because he was a team leader they "expected better" out of him and making sure thr other team members didn't fuck up

Words themselves nah. It's more the recognition that this person really wants to hurt me, assuming that's the kontext. Though I've never actually heard a slur for mixed race people used, so I'm more likely to be hit with black or white ones.

Yeah I've always believed context is what matters most. Like I ain't gonna say the n word cause its just not worth it but if all you are doing is quoting someone like "Jim called him a n***er " I don't see the issue.

Hell until it got noticed there was a trend at my job. Promotions. White male black male then a female of any color. Went In that order. Sounds like they where trying to be diverse right? But why even bother trying to promote if you know you ain't what they are looking for this time around?

Nobody said white people can't ever face prejudice or discrimination. What was said is they don't have to deal with it on a systemic level, which is worse.

We've given too much power to certain words and to the ignorant bafoons that use them.
