Man, Tearl is hard to pilot, and so random.

Not helping that I fought two 'haha fuck Tearl' and misplayed against Dinomorphia (and in turn disabled my Tearl).

Yeah Tears are praised by pros because the lines aren't obvious. Ngl, a lot of decks nowadays follow a blueprint, and Tear Ishizu actually reward you for figuring out off the wall lines or even not activating some effects out of anticipation of needing it down the line instead. You can just activate everything and win, mind you, but in mirrors or playing out of a deck that drew well, sometimes it's better to do other things.

I think one of the more interesting playstyles in my recent memory is PUNKs which actually have you keep track of LP as cost on top of other things like needing a decent hand resource. Sadly in most plays people devolve them into a single linear combo deck, which is why it does so bad outside the select players who bothered to learn the actually many many lines which lead to even better boards

I did my Tearls without Ishuzu and they're honestly fine. Like they can only recover the monsters (except Reinoheart) and not the S/T so if I have bad luck I can mill the S/T with almost no way to retrieve them back.

Or maybe it's just skill issue in that I have to 'mill better'.

But really IMO Ishuzu cards makes them insufferable. Why these things even got greenlit I have no idea.

Edit: trying Eldlich + Tearls later. It's like Laundry Dragonmaid but better.

Ban Kit, ban/limit all Ishizus, ban all just to be safe, or just keep 1 of each URs if they're greedy. Suddenly Tears are actually ok

Tear Branded will be really broken but the 2nd best deck will at least have some 20% rep. Branded doesn't lose anything by running Tears, so they'll almost basically be the same deck, but people are biased towards Branded so it's fine.

MD is running its meta at a breakneck pace. When it catches up... oh dear people are not gonna like it. Kashtira format is one of the worst formats in a very long time

Do you actually play Master Duel? Because 90% of games are people surrendering once they realize they can't win. You can't destroy anything if your opponent surrenders.

To be fair some decks don't have built-in destroy cards that is easy to access. Like Ancient Warriors which needs some effort to get them.

Just go second and run Raigekis and Dark Holes with chained monster negates via Sky Strikers or Forbidden Droplet? They're not asking you for 30 destructions, they're asking for flippin' 10 lmao

You can also just run MST/Twin Twister and just destroy your own cards lol

Also destroying by battle works. It took me like 3 duels to finish this

Then you can go first too. It's not like you actually lose anything from losing in the event battles

What's JP cards you want the most?

Ngl I have no idea. I just want pretty rarities. PUNK cards are high priority and are a bit too expensive for how mid they are in the current TCG/OCG meta

But I'm waiting for their reprint cuz they're within the set that the TCG is re-releasing for. So not sure if I'll quit collecting Eng cards yet

Was doing my daily missions for fusion and spell activation so I was using branded despia. Went second against a tear player but I just need the missions not the win. Predictably I'm losing but then they time out. Are tear players getting hit with slow play penalties? No way it was a full timer anyway

Hilariously it resolves mid way through the loop with a very confusing and rare ruling that the card is simply destroyed to prevent the loop. I believe it's because it's like trying to return to the owner but... simultaneously there's an effect trying to take control of it over and over. I'm not entirely sure cuz it only has partial replay.

Master Duel is a blessing when it comes to finding things like that.

Graydle Alligator isn't being negated at all. Marincess Crystal Heart is using its effect to make Marincess Aqua Argonaut unaffected by all other card effects except its own, including Alligator. For some reason (maybe there's something else outside the replay that explains this) this leads to the Argonaut being stuck in a loop between "affected by Crystal Heart, therefore unaffected by Alligator and returned to its owner" and "no longer affected by Crystal Heart, therefore now being affected by Alligator again and taken by the opponent again" so it keeps flipping control.

I don't think the card being destroyed to end the loop is a ruling thing either. In the real life game, the turn player would simply not be allowed to make the attack declaration with Crystal Heart in this situation. Instead, it's a failsafe put into Master Duel itself to stop infinite loops like this that the players can't get out of. If a certain action is repeated too many times without input from the player, it'll automatically put a stop to it by destroying the card it deems responsible for the loop. In this case, I assume the offender was deemed to be the effect of Alligator, but then its "When this card leaves the field, destroy the equipped monster." last effect took Argonaut with it.

Either way, it's still a really wild thing to stumble on.

If such a loop is caused by something involuntary, such as a player conducting their normal draw or a mandatory effect, then the card ruled to be the source of the infinite loop is automatically destroyed by game mechanics."

It is actually in the ruleset that if something causes an involuntary loop, it is destroyed. I thought that's what might be happening cuz it wasn't clear what actually stole Argonaut, if it were the thing that was Called By'd.

But yes, this is a voluntary loop. Unsure if the game actually is able to tell a voluntary non-game state progressing loop is taking place. In real life, they would not be allowed to make this move at all actually.

I haven't started playing for the month yet (I always wait until the third day after the reset to accumulate all of the daily challenges) but I'm hoping that since I'm a stay-in-Gold player who will be starting the season back in Silver 5, I'll run into fewer Tear players in the lower ranks. And on my side account where I have Tears built, I won't be playing the deck myself unless I run into too many other people using them.

I feel sorry for the people up in Platinum though.

Hear, here. I will try to Plat 1 (or at least Plat 2) again.

Everything just takes way longer. Generally though if you have patience, it's easier than you'd think. Playing MD also just kinda gets you aware, and it's actually harder to miss things

Oh yeah, I forgot the new banlist came into effect. I'm torn on whether I want to craft a 3rd Kagari right now or keep running 2 of her for now and wait for if/when they add Kagari's alternate art into the game like they did for Eldlich and Unicorn. Shizuku and Engage also have alternate art in the OCG (Kagari's is also out in the TCG) so the best-case scenario would be that they add all 3 into the Sky Striker pack at once.

Wanted to try Tearl + Eldlich jank (lol 42 cards before adding anything else) but then I got Blackout'd IRL....

Guess it has to wait.

Tearl hate player (Necrovalley + Dimension Fissure + TCBOO + Dimension Barrier + others) ended up surrendering because they didn't expect a Tearl player (me) lasted 22 turns.

I decided to go all-in on the "taking opponent's monsters" part of my Sky Striker deck with 2 Change Of Heart and 2 Triple Tactics Talent on top of the 3 Widow Anchor and 2 Shark Cannon that the deck already runs normally. I just won a duel by attacking with an Accesscode Talker built entirely out of stolen enemy monsters. And yes, if they ever put Change Of Heart to 3, I will craft a third one and run it.

Nope, it's terrible after the errata. It only works on monsters that can be normal summoned or set, while
the vast majority of good endboard monsters are out of the extra deck. Mind Control or Crackdown would be a better option

But aside from a third Change Of Heart if it comes off the list, I don't think I need any more anyways.

Milling better is a skill issue, I guess.
