holy shit i just played against infernoid and my god these guys are fuckin annoying lmao what

Infernoids are a bit scary til you realize they can never go 2nd or they just auto-lose

I lost against an Infernoid because I was stupid.

13k on the selection pack total now.

Missing: a Reino, Perlereino, and a Scream.

I really like this event, finally get to see a bunch of new decks. Fought this Marincess/Plant hybrid with my Salamangreat deck and now I want to start watching VRAINS lol

Just surrendered against a Marincess because I cannot out Bubble Reef and to top it off, they made Battle Ocean indestructible via Sleepy Maiden.

That's the gameplan of Marincess. We try to make a big stupid tower protected by Battle Ocean and Marincess Wave, and sometimes if we're lucky we get Battle Ocean protected by Sleepy Maiden too. The plan pretty much lives and dies by Battle Ocean though, both in it staying on the field and in the opponent wasting removal on the big stupid tower by not reading it.

Don't. Trust me, it's crap. It's so bad that it was originally supposed to be like 30 episodes longer but the studio just decided to cut their losses and scrapped most of the final arc to end it early.

But the characters look so cool! Ill probably just put it on as background noise.

Fair enough. The main problem I had with Vrains while it was airing was that it was boring and Playmaker was a boring protagonist, so maybe the dub's added comedy might help make it better. Or at least take it into "so bad it's funny" territory.

In my defense, I read everything (except I used my Areadbhair negate wrongly), but I cannot really out link monster with Crystal Wing so even if I crash my Areadbhair into Bubble Reef the turn before, it'd have been almost in vain.

...but losing a lot of cards in the event makes Dragunity not as good, tbh.

Marincess has trouble OTKing and also comboing correctly at the same time. Evenly Matched completely destroys this deck, so even if you pass first turn, Evenly and then OTK the next turn is almost always just game.

I don't have Evenly. e_e

Edit: should I just craft 3 missing Tearl cards rather than pulling? 90 UR CP is heavy, but I got 2 extra Kaleido-heart to lessen the burden (and maaaaaybe I could dismantle an extra Joyous Melffy and 2 Amazon Augusta).

In the current event (cue credits), I've won about 12-1, the one loss going second to Umi control without having drawn the out. I could've done something, but my hand clogged with 1 PUNK. I've won plenty of 1 PUNK starting hand shockingly. It's amazing how many lines I know for this deck even without Foxy Tune and Ogre Dance. I miss them though (same person I'm pretty sure but you know what I mean).

On my supposed perfect PUNK list for the event, I highly recommend adding one more Wa Gon for one less of that N rarity spell. It has done absolutely nothing for me so far because the board is generally too strong for anybody to do anything about it. I don't think adding one more Madame Spider or whats the trap adder's face does anything. Wa Gon can search field for a potential extension.

Fallen to Plat 3 yesterday, then Plat 4 today.

No, was being stuck at Plat 2 for some time then being murdered.
Now I'm Plat 4.

Used my 'King of Suship, Hope' deck and Ancient Warriors deck.
The AW one has Dimensional Fissure as Tearl hate but that's it.

Both are one-shot deck, as in no recursion whatsoever.

Even putting playmaker aside the storys, world's, lore and especially characters were all done poorly. With Blue angel being the worst offender character wise.

By the end you barely knew anything of vrains, it's rules, locations and so on. It was just a virtual playground the characters could hack whenever the plot demanded.

I really tried to like Vrains because I really dug the aesthetic, and I love the early Cyberse monsters (Backup Secretary <3) I think I dropped it shortly after the first major duel with Revolver.

As far as the game is concerned, I threw 2000 gems into the selection pack and only got two URs lol. I was hoping I'd at least "break even" on UR mats but ah well. Very likely I'm not playing Tears at all if that luck keeps up before the pack is gone. >_> (Doesn't help that before yesterday I hadn't played in a little over a week and missed out on 1000 gems worth of dailies)

Potato, potato ;P Actually in a funny turn of events, had a genuinely fun and interactive duel that kinda reinvigorated my enthusiasm. What makes Umi fun for me is that when the opponent learns to play around you, it turns into a King of the Hill game. They were running Beetroopers and the board state kept going back and forth, but they made some misplays and couldn't beat the momentum that gave me. Will probably try to dust off Marincess and Speedroid next time.

Saw a Sky Strikers list on Master Duel Meta, which I think is funny as shit. Might try it, though I'm skeptical of how well it would perform without Raye/Roze and with only Linkage and a single Hornets as your play starters. >_>

If you play pure kaijus, you'll always draw into them when you need them.

Of course, the downside is that you'd be playing pure kaijus.

...on the other hand, Gamaciel is fucking broken as shit and is a one-card omni-floodgate if set up properly.

Managed to get back to Plat 2 again with my King of Sushi, Hope deck.

As long as I can reach Plat 2 in a given season then the gems already surpassed the usual Silver 5 -> Gold 1.

Breaking the Plat 2 -> Plat 1 wall, though. It feels like a different world.

Somehow discouraged a Tearl player with AW Don Ying's measly 400 pre-paid burn tax (along with other disruptions I had) enough that they scooped.

Tax seems effective to an extent, especially if Tearl wants to play on our turn.

But I don't play Despia, so maybe Lv 7 spam for Flare Metal Dragon (post-paid tax burn) miiiight be viable?

Ranked up to Plat 1 anti-climactically when the Tearl I fought surrendered for some reason, even though they had Winda that I cannot out by any means.

Every season you start at the tier before your latest placement.

So ending in Gold (no matter the number) will have you start in Silver 5. Ending in Plat -> start at Gold 5, etc.

The problem is mostly at how tryharding and sweaty ranked is, and combined with the above, thus making ranking up tier an undesirable action.

There is also breakpoint of gems earned every ranking season with Silver 5 -> Gold 1 as standard.

Silver 5 -> Gold 1 gives 1k gems.
To surpass that number, if you start at Gold 5 the next season, you have to reach at least Plat 2 (1100 gems).

Else, if you cannot reach it, you might as well stay at Gold.

I finally did it. I reached platinum! Now I can take a loooooong break from this! I'm free!!!

Goddamn I got absolutely wrecked by a speedroid deck. Played through a negate, ash, and a destruction and still flooded the board with high level synchros. At least I finally got all the gems from this event.
