I like when games have a whole bunch of voice lines for all sorts of niche situations, e.g. rival characters bantering, NPCs reacting to you doing weird stuff.

Color customization goes really far imo. A legendary piece of gear should be whatever color scheme you want.

I remember getting that cape in SotN that you could two tone and it was so cool.

When changing armor/weapons in jrpgs have actual different models.

Most games will do weapons, but I've yet to come across a jrpg that did armor as well as Legend of Legaia did.

Racing games with an option to disable the HUD.
I don't need a counter in the corner of my screen showing my best lap times when I'm racing against ten other cars for the podium, and having a floating tach and speedometer is a redundancy when the car already has a fully functional gauge cluster.

mark all as read. not many games have this. but a ton of games have a bunch of tutorials and items that litter your menu up with exclamation points. i have to click them all off or it drives me insane. a good alternative to this is never putting exclamation points in menus in the first place. from software games don't do this.
