U is definitely on the same tier as 3 and World. 3 > World > U but NSMBU was the first one to finally nail everything and reach that same echelon of 2D greatness. But yeah, can't quite put it over the classics. Mario 64 has horrible controls and might actually be worse than Sunshine, but they're both the worst 3D Marios. Mario 64 does not hold up compared to some of its legendary peers at the time like OoT. Still enjoyable games I'd recommend to anyone to experience Mario's history. --- Feel the sadnesss of the Earth, and I close my eyes.
