UnfairRepresent 03/18/23 11:03:13 AM #1:	Game is goergeous, fun as fuck, controls great. The VAs did a fantastic job. I think it gets a lot of flack because it followed RE2make and was no where near as good as RE2make. But man if RE3make had come out first, people would praising how amazing it was. It's not a bad game at all. It's just not as good as RE2make. RE2make included almost everything from the original, RE3make was missing a ton of content and that stung. But the content we got was sweet. It's good solid game. One of the best horror games of the past 10 years. Wipes the floor with shit like Calisto Protocol or Outlast 2 or Siren Blood Curse or The Evil Within 2 or Layers of Fear 2 or Blair Witch or a Plague tale or Man of Maiden or Amnesia 3 or Maiden of Blackwater or Inside And the big one that's gonna really piss off CE. I thought it was way better than Last of Us 2. Puzzles are only difficult if you're a first grader, the level design in the final act is trash, and Nemesis is 85% scripted. The game is also painfully linear. Remember the sewer sequence in RE3? It's a straight line with one loop in the middle. Meanwhile I've beaten RE2 several times and I couldn't tell you the complete layout of the sewer section. Also exploring RPD while getting hunted down by Mr X was great. Doing QTE in RE3 is not. RE2 just felt like a great environment to explore. They made too many changes, and removed too many things. Freeze rounds for me was the deal breaker. I loved freeze rounds in the original. They had a cool effect and worked well against Nemesis. There were also different ways you could approach progression and how it affected the story. Nemesis appearing at random locations depending on where you went and what you did. Live selection was a cool feature that has never been replicated in an RE game Oh yeah, no mercenaries. I freaking hate what they did to this game. You are still conceding to it being dumbed down. The major difference is that the original A and B scenario's flowed much better. I don't agree at all WTF. How is making a coherant improved plot told across 2 campaigns dumbed down and flows worse than an incoherant contradictory plot told across 4? The big difference between the scenarios in the OG Game was Mr X. Aside from Mr X the gameplay was 90% identical, you just got some different cutscenes sometimes. I think taking the whole plot and working into 2 scenarios makes sense. Especially since on Playthrough 3 and 4 and 5 you're likely skipping cutscenes anyway. and Mr X appearing in the 1st scenario is absolutely an improvement. Ada and Sherry's sections have been vastly improved too. The entire original point of this feature is to show what Claire or Leon were doing at the same time. This is why they don't fight the same bosses. This is why they don't see the same thing at the same time. Re2 Remake does this in the station. The second scenario character is behind the fence but after that? It's mostly the same. I don't agree with this at all. The scenarios are pretty much the same. Only main difference is the lack of Mr X in the OG. And the Lighter/Small key nonsense. Which IMO, both changes are an improvement How does both leon and claire fight crowbar birkin in the same place for example? There's far better flow in the original. Let's not pretend there isn't. The classic game is superior in this regard. Yeah I agree, they could have done better intertwining the stories. That was a missed oppotunity to improve on the OG. Claire and Leon barely interact. Would have been neat if they had some different boss fights. I don't agree for a second that the clunky as fuck OG RE2 had better "flow" though. Play the original again. I still speed run it. I chuckle at the start where you have to walk and then jog through a fire and then walk to a building and then stumble some more and then crawl very slowly under a sign then plod slowly while truck guy gets in a truck then crawl slowly through a low space then walk slowly to a helicopter then do the RE6 car starting QTE and then Nemesis shows up and then he's gone.
