Which one of these would you most recommend?

Been playing through some pretty epic and outstanding games recently, in the past few months beat Subnautica, Red Dead Redemption 2 and Hogwarts Legacy. Thinking of what to play next and the Spring sale hit!

Looking at the sale I've narrowed it down to a handful of games trying to decide which one I want to pickup and I'm having trouble doing so. Thought I'd get some other opinions.

I'm working my way through Nier now and it's pretty fantastic, but I haven't played any of the others and therefore can't really make a comparison.

I rather like it, but I can see it not being for everyone. The core gameplay is setting up a programmable movement loop featuring 3 actions: Move, Wait, Act. As you perform the same action on the same tile you gain experience with that action and it becomes easier next time.

The start of the game is about setting up a loop to escape the first little tiny room... then it's figuring out where to go next, and the game just keeps opening up and up and up above and beyond expectation

It even used to be named Loop Odyssey, though I think it was all just a weird coincidence

Outer Wilds is genuinely one of my favorite games of all time (and most people who've played it agree it's incredibly good), but there's almost no way to pitch it to a friend other than "trust me bro it's good". I guess you can point to it having 95% positive reviews on steam, which is way higher than anything else here?

Horizon:ZD is good, but I liked NieR Automata more.

Also, looking at my wishlist, only one is on sale, and it's only a 20% sale. That's laughable to me.

I can definitely recommend Outer Wilds. I have Horizon: Zero Dawn and Forbidden West on PS4. Don't know if the 2nd one will come to PC.

Outer Wilds is a once-in-a-generation kind of game, imo.
I'd recommend picking that up first, then NieR.

I will never purchase/play Cyberpunk out of principle. Its beyond unacceptable that the game was released in the state it was. I dont care how much they eventually improved it. I will not support games being pushed out the door in a broken, abysmal state. That should not be something that we allow to become the industry standard. We should vote with our wallets to send a message that this practice is not okay, and we will not support it, even after you eventually get around to improving the game via updates.

I thought Horizon was great. If you don't have Elden Ring, it is popular for very good reasons.

So the poll went almost just like I myself was thinking. I was leaning Neir or Horizon but for me a very close 3rd was FFXII... and I couldn't shake it I "neirly" bought Neir after the poll (had it in my cart at one point) but I ended up going on a nagging lil thought in my head I should actually go FFXII, plus it did better than I though it would. I figured being the oldest game in the list and a FF not so talked about I figured it'd get no votes but it actually did pretty well, so I pulled the trigger on that one. I really need to play all those games eventually though.

See one of my top 5 games of all time is Vagrant Story its a non FF official game by Square (for those that haven't heard of it) but its Final Fantasy related as it takes place in the world of Ivalice that FFXII and FFTactics takes place in and was made by the same team. I always wanted to play it but never had a chance to.

Add to this my favorite strummer, Preach has been doing two projects since he caught up in FF14 going through various mmos and inbetween playing all the single player Final Fantasys, he's done 4,6,7,8,9,10. He's doing some side game FF game next like CC or something but he's got to be doing 12 here in the not so distant future and I wanted to be able to watch it when it eventually happens.

So far its pretty good, it triggers so much nostalgia for VS and FF14 graphically looks so much like enhanced VS graphics. The story is very political/game of thrones style much like VS as well, the voice acting is actually not half bad (except vaan)... and then there is Fran and the simp in me emerges...

Wish the sale had stretched till the end of this week I could have grabbed an additional game on this payday.
