Labor Day is depressingly ironic at this point. I get paid holidays, but not that one.

St Patrick's day because it's not a holiday that I have never gotten time off for

New Year's for me. I like holidays with food and other than people ordering takeout New Year's isn't a food holiday.

Halloween too but at least I can have fun with my kids on Halloween

yes Christmas is basically a Hallmark holiday now but then call it the winter solstice and celebrate on that day instead of its gonna be national.

Most of those holidays have little to do with the original reasons that they became holidays the way people observe them.

I suppose St Patty's Day because I never do anything for it, it never had much meaning to the majority of Americans, and it doesn't come with a free day off from work.

I get that but that's why I capitalize upon the positivity of the holiday and what I enjoy about them.
Like today, I'm not Irish. In fact, I'm English which is kinda their rival. I'm making corned beef patties though and wearing green and adding colors to my nails. There's not much depth to what I do, but it gives me something to look forward to every year.

I'll do something similar for Easter with food and my nails but I'm so far from being Christian or Catholic, nor have I done anything related to lent at this point.

True. I guess I was expecting more varied responses, like maybe someone is Jewish, had a terrible experience with a certain day, hates a certain food like turkey, etc.
While mine is related to work and not getting paid, it's the irony of it. Like, how do you celebrate that day when labor is being shafted? There's almost no meaning or anything positive about it and people don't care when you do actually talk about it. The amount of people who have no idea what it is even about is sad.

I voted Christmas, because it's the only holiday that has metastasized like a cancer and is creeping through the rest of the calendar like an oversized tumor.

When radio stations start playing Christmas music in the middle of October, we have a fucking problem.

St Patrick's Day and Halloween you don't get time off, but between the two, you have to spend more money for Halloween to bribe kids to not deface your house.

Probably 4th of July. Traumatizes vets and animals, pollutes the air, interferes with sleep. Blegh.

St. P's Day might as well not exist for all the impact its had on my life, so it can't be the "worst." Same goes for Valentine's Day, tbh. Columbus Day is unambiguously a vile holiday all around, but I barely even notice it when it happens, so...

Halloween, hate dress up never liked it

Halloween, hands down.

Memorial Day because that's the day when I visit my dad's grave. He was a narcissist, a regular gaslighter, and overall asshole, but he was the only one who "gets" me, so I hate this fucking holiday because it reminds me of him and the mixed feelings I have about his death.
