I let him use it on his phone because he couldn't complete the transaction and his data wasn't working. The transaction still didn't go through but I made sure to click the "Forget this network" thing on his phone before he left to figure it out. The transaction did finally go through thougfh so he must have figured it out. What I'm worried about though is the wifi thing.
Even though I did the "Forget this network" thing on his phone is my network possibly at risk?

Yes

He's probably a master hacker that took the delivery job just to hack you specifically

I mean yeah an attacker could do all to plant some bug on a vulnerable device on your network, but that's kind of paranoid

Maybe he runs some scam where he does this to all his customers, but I'd be more worried about how stores just expect you to hand your card over to servers where they could easily take all money from your bank/credit by taking a concealed picture/recording of it

Do you live in the 1990s? Because that's the last time I've seen a restaraunt do that. Now they bring you the wireless machine and your card never leaves your hand.

It is a security risk, but not a particularly significant one. You probably don't need to worry unless you handle a lot of really sensitive information on your network and need to be extra-paranoid (like running a medical office). Maybe keep an eye out for anything suspicious and use a guest network for future instances like this, but otherwise you're probably fine.

Oh well, you know where you ordered from so at least they'll know or should know the identity of the delivery person.

Yes, apparently the area I live in still lives in the 90s. Drivethroughs do this as well.

While that's pretty common, its far from standard.
