I suppose that isn't directly part of the pool construction process? There would need to be a huge awning in the middle of my yard. I don't like that aesthetic and it's probably expensive af. Ahh okay. Yeah some kind of physical sun protection near the pool would be ideal (not necessarily immediately over it) Especially with trees, because then the tree debris will just dirty up the pool a lot --- https://i.imgur.com/HZf4bFJ.gif the White-Sounding Black Chick ... Copied to Clipboard!

I don't think the pool itself needs to be sheltered, but it'd be nice to have some shelter-like nearby instead of having to immediately go back inside the house. That's less about the pool and more about having a patio or porch set-up outside. --- https://i.imgur.com/HZf4bFJ.gif the White-Sounding Black Chick ... Copied to Clipboard!

So 1/4 inch per week in Arizona = 1/2 inch per day? You also understand it rains here, right? All I'm saying is the natural rate of evaporation here is not a problem lol. No one is refilling their pool once a summer due to evaporation. It's a non-issue. ... Copied to Clipboard!

While my pool was in California, having something to give you shade is REALLY useful even when it's not over 100 out lol. Even in the middle of your yard you can put up something that goes over your pool, and has an awning/tarp etc that can be pulled out/put away at will. It lets you have shade if you need it (say like us you are doing water areobics for an hour + each day and the sun is really bright), but if it's a nice, not too hot day, you can not have the tarp/awning out and get fresh sunlight or at night look at the stars etc. It's just basically building a trellis/pergola over your pool, it's not expensive, they even sell them already to be put up (aluminum etc), and it gives you options. Honestly not something to worry about till you have your pool build already, but once you do, I would look into it if the sun is just to bright. It can also avoid getting sun burn (or you having to use sun tan lotion etc). We had an awning with a remove that we could have go out/in at will (always had to remember to bring it in before storms though). It was super nice, and not that expensive (think the whole thing was like 400-500$). Compared to the cost of the pool it was cheap. Even the electric chair to help my wife get into/out of the pool (and elizabeth as well, she had knee/hip replacement surgeries) was more expensive. --- Tacobot 3000 "Saving the world from not having tacos."
