A mixed bag, I'd say!

Parasite I think

I liked Boyhood and La La Land better than any of the actual winners though

Parasite, which is also a top 3 movie of the last 10 years for me

i used to do these pills but stopped cause it stopped being competitive once Parasite came out

I figured this would wind up being a Parasite v EEAAO poll. Which is fair enough, they're two of my top three here alongside Moonlight!

Hm that reminds me, most of these years there was a clear early frontrunner movie with a lot of precursors that fell out of first by the end:
Gravity, Boyhood, The Revenant, La La Land, Three Billboards, Roma, 1917, Power of the Dog. (Nomadland and EEAAO didn't have a clear runner up I think, they both kinda rolled their years.)

Is the 'runner up' lineup better or worse than the winners?

EEAAO is amazing but I still gotta go with Parasite.

Fabelmans was at least sorta the favorite pick before awards season really got started, though it was basically 50/50 between that and EEAAO.

EEAAO but Parasite is also really REALLY good. Nomadland is pretty blah.

It's amazing how not watching TV and not having theater-going friends has led to me not even being aware of most of these movies.

I've only seen EEAAO. It felt like watching a fever dream, which was pretty intense.

For a full ranking, uh

Parasite > Birdman > EEAAO > Shape of Water > Spotlight > 12 Years a Slave

..... just realized Argo was 11 years ago, damn.

So in that case, Parasite

(but I really love Argo!!)

This might as well have been a straight up 1v1 between Parasite and EEAAO. I didn't expect them to collectively have over 90% of the vote!

This is very close to my own ranking.
Parasite > Moonlight > EEAAO > Nomadland > Spotlight > 12YAS > Shape of Water > Birdman > CODA
(Haven't seen Green Book)

EEAOs runner-up was All Quiet on the Western Front which won BAFTA, but it was a case of the runner-up having a late surge from behind but still not quite winning it rather than coming out of the gate as the favourite then dropping off.

Only seen 3 of them and 2 of them I didn't really like (Birdman and Shape of Water). The other is EEAO which I liked so I guess that's my answer

The rest I haven't even heard of outside of like 1.

I only saw 2 of these, but The Shape of Water was very very good I thought.
