Oh I should probably have worded that better. I wasn't attacking Coca-Cola, it was more that Coca-Cola is known everywhere, just like KitKat.

Most meat is not actually good unless it's expensive, and meat substitutes (including tofu, halloumi, paneer and many direct meat replacements) are typically easier to prepare and cheaper than meat of similar quality.

Warm/hot drinks are nasty, full stop.

Pizza is only good if it has spice on it somewhere.

Creamy sauces/condiments are all disgusting unless they're hot.

Dominos has improved considerably. Pizza Hut is practically inedible. Papa Johns falls somewhere in between.

Less controversial, we used to have a pizza place with amazing sauce. Theyre gone now. Its not all bad, theres a local chain that is almost as good. Beats the national chains by a mile.

I'll say the opposite: Raw beef and even rare steak are a total waste. Poke and sushi are soo much better than carpaccio or tartare.

The best flavors in beef come from the crust and the rendered internal fat and connective tissue. The raw stuff just tastes like iron.

FYI you can get peanut butter that's just ground peanuts, doesn't need to be loaded with sugar

Thats the kind of peanut butter I use. Ingredients are just peanuts and like 1% or less salt. Its great even though most people probably dont want to deal with the oil. The sugary shit kinds are easier to spread/deal with, but theyre much worse than just good old ground peanuts

I like my hot dogs without condiments on it.

Water is the best-tasting beverage by a significant margin.

Is this a hot take? Everything Bagel sucks. Probably the single worst bagel flavor available even

Im good with most others. Plain, blueberry, cinnamon &/or raisin. I really cant say how much I dislike onion flavor anything and Im not big on garlic either. I cant really tolerate some spices/seasonings because I wasnt blessed enough to be able to eat anything without any issues

I like condiments and toppings on other things! Just not hot dogs.

Flavored beverages are nice once in a while, but I dont drink it nearly as often as water. I dont enjoy it as much as water either. Water just tastes good too, especially cold water.

I used to hate the texture of everything bagels but now I enjoy them quite a bit, toss up between them and cinnamon raisin

I'll take the popular brands of peanut butter (particularly regular Skippy) over the "natural," low sodium or low sugar varieties any time. Somehow that measly two grams of added sugar per serving and bit of salt are the difference between one of my favorite things in the world and void paste.

I do like extra salt & sugar in my peanut butter, but you can easily add it yourself to the plain ones. You can control how much, and even add textural contrast. e.g. plain PB with maldon salt on top is amazing.

Why is this dreadful topic still going on?

Because it's fun to learn about the bad opinions of boardmates

If you don't want to deal with the oil, then powdered peanut butter works well. Once you get a feel for reconstituting it, you can make some nice sandwiches with far less fat.

Just remembered one: That meme that avocados ripen too fast is completely ridiculous and I have no idea where it came from. There's about a 36 hour window for whatever ripeness you want, then you put it in the fridge and it stays perfect for a week (or more, I dunno because I always eat them before that). And you can tell completely by touch how ripe it is, unlike melons or pineapple.

These are for modern hass avocados though. Maybe older varieties were more difficult.

That sounds more like a PSA

Bananas are at their best just before any brown spots appear and there's still a slight bit of green on the peel near the stem. Once significant brown starts appearing they get a funky aftertaste that I cannot stand. They're still great for cutting up into cereal because the cereal and milk mask that aftertaste.

Local pizza places aren't significantly better than national chains. Just different (and sometimes worse even)

Best pizza topping combination: jalapenos, pineapples, and onions. Extra sauce is good.

Best topping for popcorn: hot sauce

Circus peanuts are tasty (and the only peanuts I can actually eat.)

Olives suck and ruin a pizza; even if you pick them off the taste will have leeched through.

Anything besides condiments, cheese, and possibly bacon is unnecessary on a burger.

Donuts shouldnt have any kind of stuffing.
