Well disc is a variant spelling of disk so it could go either way, since both words effectively mean the same thing. It's almost how colour and color are both correct technically though you typically see colour if you are in Europe. --- Getting too damn old for this crap! ... Copied to Clipboard!

I've always used disk to mean disk drives (floppy, hard drives, zip drives, etc), with disc being the literal round thing (so a Frisbee is a flying disc, a CD is a compact disc, a DJ is a disc jockey, etc).
