It feels like they're teasing some of these broken-up couples getting back together, but this show likes to tease you and then pull the rug out from under you at the last minute, so we'll see!

Might swap Zelda and XB3 DLC whenever I finish Azure (lmao still in chapter 3) if we're still in a kind of discussion phase of Zelda but we'll see. Progress on any games has been slow for me.

I played a bunch today. The general gameplay loop is a bit more of a retread than I had hoped, but the new abilities let you do some really cool things.

Yeah, messing around with the new abilities is pretty fun. I still haven't gotten the hang of how to rotate items the correct way with Ultrahand yet though.

Yeah, it's cool in concept but every time I feel like an idiot as I spend like a full minute trying to rotate a single thing with just the two axes

Agreed that it doesnt feel quite as intuitive as it should

I've gotten a lot of practice with Ultrahand from making platforms and sending them down ziplines before standing on them.

Well, my wife has said she doesn't want me to play the game without her now. I let her play for a little while and she almost immediately fell in love with it.

So I guess it'll take me even longer than I thought to finish, but on the bright side, I guess I'll keep playing Disco Elysium when she's not around!

There's a fairly simple knack to it - rotate twice horizontally, rotate vertically, then rotate back to the original horizontal position. Doesn't quite work every time, but definitely most of the time.

Our Mother's Day lunch tradition has become going to Buffalo Wild Wings because it's so easy to get in today. Who'd have guessed this isn't a popular place to take your mom for lunch...!

Finished the intro sequence in Tears of the Kingdom and now I'm on the mainland. I imagine this is where the game opens up a bit more.

My advice: do the main quest for a little bit. You'll get some important stuff.

Whew, I'm glad I haven't had to have that talk with my mom yet.

Okay, I got the Paraglider and got a bunch of locations to visit. I'm assuming now we are good to go in terms of just heading out into the world to explore.

Yeah, that's the main one. Some of the other main quests give cool permanent upgrades, but none of them are nearly as important as that.

Argh, hard drive seems to have failed on the laptop I use. Seems to have failed beyond the point of recovery too. That... kind of sucks and was an unexpected and unwelcome way to end/start my day (it happened last night but I had it running chkdsk overnight and only saw and investigated the results this morning)

Yeah. Nothing too critical on there that I'd have lost permanently. Like literally the "loss" that hurts me the most is my frankenstein spreadsheet I used to track F/GO things. And while it'll take a few hours I could reconstruct that and maybe even use the hindsight I've gain as I kept adding things to it to design it better from the start now. I guess some old notes from VGMC were on there too which were sometimes nice to look back on for nostalgia's sake. So it definitely could have been way worse.

I think what happened was that while in the back of my head I always figured it was nearing its end I made a critical misjudgment a few months ago with it. It crashed in a way that was basically the same as it did last night but at the time I was eventually able to fix it and ended up thinking the issue was a bug with Windows because when I was trying to diagnose it back then it threw up an error code at one point then when I searched it seemed to explain everything and was the result of a weird Windows bug that I was able to deal with. And it worked more or less fine for months afterwards.

Now I'm thinking that actually that may have been the first major danger signs that the hard drive was failing and I missed it because I settled on a different explanation.
