Doesn't surprise me. I always remember being disappointed that there weren't more. I just redeemed most of my codes from the Friends of Nintendo one and have a few to give away of games that I already had otherwise.

Just purchased all the DD/SoJ DLC so I won't accidentally forget to do that.

Ok, so got a handful of DLC. I'll say for what games and how soon you can access in the in-game DLC shop for anyone wanting to know what they have to do to access it.

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia - You can access the shop right when you reach the world map, which you get to within an hour of playing.

Yo-kai Watch 3 - This one doesn't actually have a DLC shop but if you buy the game digitally you're given a code to use. However, this one's annoying to do because you can't access the code redemption until about 2 hours of playing, probably sooner if you speed through it. There's also a little mistake on Nintendo about when you can redeem the code. The redeem instructions will say that you need to clear chapter 2 to redeem the code, but you only need to reach chapter 2 to be able to redeem it.

I also saw that there's another gift download option in the game but it didn't bring up a connection to Nintendo's eShop server like usual whenever you buy any DLC. So this one is likely Level-5's server and may still be available after shutdown. I recall hearing that the Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright DLC works the same.

Mario Golf: World Tour - Just need to get past the how-to-play tutorial when you first start the game and then you can access the DLC shop in the main menu.

SMT IV and Apocalypse - Can access immediately upon starting up the game at the main menu.

And it looks like my own copy of Persona Q doesn't even read (I'm hearing this was a common problem with first prints of this game), and since Atlus is being stubborn about putting their games on-sale one last time, I'll have to use some other way to play it.

Persona Q2 - This on the other hand works fine, and much like SMT IV, you can access the DLC shop right when you start the game.

I can confirm that Persona Q DLC can be bought from the main menu (most cartridges of that game are dead though)

i guess i should get some of that dlc myself, pretty sure i haven't gotten any sov or soj or smt4 stuff presently (oops) and i guess i need to finally decide if i want to get ace combat 3D+ or not assuming that's still there...

also i guess i might as well grab whatever wii u indie stuff i had in my wishlist still that's not cheaper/improved on switch too

I think that you have to have the space free, but you could probably just clear off enough for the biggest one, add one at a time, and cancel the download before moving on to the next one.

I really need to look into some sort of storage solution. I don't really want to buy another external hard drive just for a relatively small amount of space. I wonder if it would be fine getting a USB drive, backing up everything onto it, and just move over files for games that I'm currently playing to the system's hard drive when I need them.

Going deeper into the list of games, some of the titles start looking like something you'd come up with on Game Dev Tycoon.

The Beyblade game certainly doesn't look good and the Suda51 game Liberation Maiden, I'm not too sure what to think there.

My copy of Persona Q had the same problem. I contacted Atlus about it a couple of years ago and after sending the game card in to them to confirm it was the same problem, aka I'm not a lying liar, they gave me a free code for a digital copy of the game. Pretty sure they don't do that any longer, though.

Anyone have opinions on Chase Cold Case Investigations? I was recommended it by someone after playing the Hotel Dusks, but someone else said it was awful lol.

As someone who ranked both Kyle Hyde games in my Top 50, it isn't worth it.

Chase Cold Case Investigations is... eh? It's fine but not worth the price. It's under two hours even at a leisurely pace. I had kinda hoped it was sort of the Ground Zeroes to what would be a bigger game or franchise but that wasn't the case.

On another note, here's another one - The Mysterious Murasame Castle on 3DS VC. This is the game Takamaru is originally from and it's the only time it's ever been released in the west.

Is the DLC case in Spirit of Justice worth it? I loved Dual Destinies' DLC case but thought SoJ in general was maybe the weakest game in the series.

The Beyblade game certainly doesn't look good and the Suda51 game Liberation Maiden, I'm not too sure what to think there.

Liberation Maiden is the only thing I've picked up so far, but I haven't played it yet so idk. My feelings on the two other Guild games I own is kinda middling so I'm not sure why I prioritized buying a third one.

DLC case in Spirit of Justice was pretty mediocre yeah.

Dual Destinies DLC is among the best in the series
Spirit of Justice DLC is among the worst in the series

It's not a great case, but I think it's worth grabbing given the eshop closure. The Asinine Attorney stuff isn't worth it; just watch it on Youtube or something.

Oh yeah definitely grab it anyways because more Ace Attorney is more Ace Attorney. Just saying the case sucks.

Rhythm Thief and the Emperor's Treasure goes for exorbitant used prices, and those will likely go up once the digital version is gone for good. It's kinda Professor Layton-ish except with rhythm-based games instead of riddles and puzzles, so if that sounds interesting to you, pick it up.

Yeah that's a game I used to own physically and regret selling before it became valuable.

Since noone has mentioned it yet, I wanted to know if theres any must-have Game Gear titles besides Sonic I should get. (I already have Dragon Crystal and Shining Force.)

A lot of Circle Entertainments games are on sale on the 3DS eShop right now. I highly recommend the Witch and Hero trilogy and the two Fairune games.

true, as far as their titles go i'd again personally recommend the parascientific escape games specifically since they haven't gotten ports (and it's highly unlikely they will), and considering they're basically budget title versions of zero escape i'd assume people here might be interested

I don't think FE Fates was going to be removed completely early, just that you couldn't buy the additional story paths. Perhaps they had some special thing set up to handle the story paths, which they wished to deprecate first as a trial, before removing everything else.

Just dropping in right quick to urge people to have a look at Pandora's Tower, the oft-forgotten black sheep of the Operation Rainfall trio. Very unique game that's decidedly not for everyone, but I'm sure there's at least a handful of people here that would probably really dig it.

Did grab PQ1 even though I own a physical copy already mostly due to fear caused by this topic, but it was only 3.59.

I read that purchases you've made will be available to redownload if you delete them once the Eshop closes, but I was wondering how that would work? You can redownload purchases by going to the options menu in the Eshop, but will that still be there when the shop closes, or is there another way to access your purchases if not?

My guess is that connection to the eShop will still be there, but any connection that tries to do the purchase gets cut-off.

Don't see a good reason why you can't add more funds since so long. It's at this moment when you realize you need more than what you charged your account with a year ago.

Two hypothetical questions:

1: if one were to buy any of the Ace Attorney games on sale(excluding the the trilogy, already bought it), which would be highest content-quality ratio? Assume DLC isn't being purchased.

2: if one intended to play one of the monster hunter games on sale(on a normal 3DS, not a new 3DS, 2DS, XL or any other kind), which one would have the highest content-quality ratio? Again, assume DLC isn't being purchased. Additionally, assume purchasing this game is SOLELY FOR SINGLE PLAYER. Also, it would be the first Monster Hunter game played by one.

you should be able to charge via Switch if your accounts are linked

I haven't really played MH since Freedom 2 and never actually beat it, so I'm probably in no position to answer but I get the general impression that MH games get a bit easier/more accessible with each game (although there's not too much difference either until you get to World and Rise).

I think Generations is more of a "best of" game, with monsters from across the series. But 3 and 4 are the "G/ultimate" versions while Generations is not (as it's on the Switch). This means that it doesn't have the postgame level G rank quests that get added in the G/Ultimate rereleases although if you're just planning on doing the elder/story quests and then you probably won't get to that point (guild quests have enemies with higher hp because they're balanced more with multiplayer in mind, you can still play them solo I think they'd just be a lot more damage spongy solo).

I think all the MH DLC is free? But it's probably mostly just quests for high level players.

You might have some trouble playing on a regular 3ds without the new 3ds' c stick nub because of the camera control, although I guess there's a circle pad attachment for the regular 3ds.

Adding to Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, all the DLC is free and it doesn't make a connection to Nintendo's eShop service. So much like the Layton games, it may stick around after the eShop closure.

One thing about Generations, is that you can transfer your 3DS save to Generations Ultimate on Switch, but you need to download the Data Transfer tool from the eShop.

Got a bunch of other DLC and like last I'll say how far you need to go for any last minute buyers.

Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold, V, Nexus, and Mystery Dungeon - You can get all the DLC right from the main menu before playing for each of the game.

Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns - You can buy it from the main menu before starting a file

7th Dragon III Code: VFD - You can buy it from the main menu before starting a file

Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology - You can buy it from the main menu before starting a file

Moon Chronicles - You can buy the DLC, which is the rest of the game, from the main menu

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity - Need to get past the tutorial dungeon first, which is maybe about 20 minutes of playing

Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson - If you have a Senran Kagura Burst save data on your SD card, which does not take long at all to create save data, you automatically get a dude that's normally DLC. For the rest of the DLC, you have to play through the tutorial mission first, which is maybe 10-20 minutes of playing, and then you can access the hub which lets you get DLC.

Project X Zone 2 - Don't bother. Whatever DLC was there is no longer available since the game is delisted. I learned that the hard way after going through the first 6 stages that took like an hour and a half of playing. At least I got a feel of the game. It's alright, but I can see it being repetitive.

I'd say the only game left I really care to get DLC for is Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker and it looks like that involves playing some of the game first before accessing the DLC shop. After that I'll be really good on the eShop purchases barring any really last minute purchases.

I don't think they ever specified when, and I really doubt they would assume that the average person knows about Japan time. The 27th may still be good to make purchases, but I'd be safe and get everything you want bought by today.

Got to the point where DLC is available in all of the FE games... now to decide what I want to buy
