Seems like the biggest issue is most of the games are a best of PS VR collection but I never played any of those. GT7 seems especially intriguing in VR

Yeah, I dont think its realistic to get if you dont already have a ps5

But if you do, you are getting a top level VR headset at a steep discount considering you dont need a top level PC

Still can't consider VR anything other than a control method rather than an alternate platform. It's just like a light gun or a racing wheel as far as I'm concerned.

Realistically I'm never paying more than $150, and that's pushing it!

Some do, but many don't

Only a couple of them are contained in the headset, like the Oculus Quest/2. They're generally weaker devices.

I had no idea. I've been curious about venturing into VR with the psvr2, but the price point has been holding me back, also rides at amusement parks that require 3d glasses (like the harry potter rides at universal) make me extremely queezy so I'm assuming vr will have the same effect.

I wouldnt drop 600 without trying it first, but there is a lot of variation in vr games.

Just being stationary and looking at stuff is pretty cool

Yeah it looks great but 10 minutes with the Standing mode on the Horizon game has made me sick for about an hour now.

Might have to go seated on this one

Also I got the VR face sweats so fast but IDK how you fix that problem.

Tetris Effect in VR is absolutely incredible. It's the only game I've ever played that made me cry and it wasn't because of a sad moment or story. I just had sensory overload and it made me emotional.

Interested in PSVR2, but I'm not gonna get it any time soon. I don't have a PS5, but I plan to eventually, once it gets some more games I'm interested in. Right now, it's just R&C and Horizon. And it's a similar situation with VR2, given the only two I want there are GT7 and.... Horizon. I can't handle horror in VR at all. Phasmophobia makes me cry.

Tried out Horizon, GT7 and Rez. Pretty much my first time trying out one of these high-end headsets, and it was amazing! The Horizon game in particular was so impressive, and super pretty. Need to put more time into GT7. This was the first time Ive played Rez, so that was a trip all on its own

Does this headset require space to move around, or can I sit like normal and just use the controllers? I ask because I have extremely limited space to move around.

Depends on the game, but the headset itself does not require a room or anything.

Tried the horizon demo. Its cool but not sure its for me. Got fairly nauseous in stick mode and controlling in the hand wave mode is rough.

Would love to buy this but it's too risky with the possibility of motion sickness. I've used a Quest 2 and everything was fine when I was standing in place with shooting galleries, Beat Saber, and Super Hot. But anything with "motion", either roller coasters or moving with an analog stick, was an immediate wave of nausea.

To clear up the confusion- you're getting something comparable to Valve's Index VR system:

Which as you see is $500 for the headset and $1000 for the full kit (+controllers and base stations). Then you need to have a high quality gaming PC to plug it all into. BUT once you've done all the above, you're getting the best experience on the market!

That's why PSVR2 is a great value (if you already have the PS5). Don't compare this to something like the $400 Meta Quest:

Which is all built into the headset, but means you sacrifice the big games and top-end VR experience only a PS5 or true gaming PC can power.

Played some RE8 tonight. Spent over an hour on it without feeling sick, seems like thats good for a VR newbie. Anyway, it was great! If I hadnt played the game a couple times before itd would have been super scary lol, and actually that tutorial part in the garage kinda was. I thought it was a little on the easy, turns out for some reason the game was set to casual when I swear I picked standard. All the gun fiddling is great, might turn on those extra accessibility options though

Yeah, I would totally buy the PSVR2 in a heartbeat if it were PC compatible because I have a good PC.

But spending the 500 + 500, I don't know. I've been looking at the Index for a while now (and I am sure they are working on a second edition)

Was pretty awesome. Started to get nauseous after half an hour or so but it was only bad when I crashed into something
