Watching Ryukahr do this and it's insane. It's SMB, Lost levels, SMB 2 and 3, SMW, and SM64 all beaten in under an hour.

Nope.

Mario 1 is 5 minutes, SMW with Star World is pretty fast. 3 is about 11 I think. USA has warps, only 7 worlds and the last world is 2 stages long. Lost Levels I kind of can't remember, I know some warps send you backwards but there's probably some that go forward in there right?

64 is the problem, that's gotta be one of those 16 star runs, right? Or some other glitch?

No. Even top speedrunners can't do it beyond the literal top runners to ever run Mario games.

It looks like only 8 people have managed to do it according to speedrun.com. 53 minutes and 51 seconds is the fastest time it seems.

Basically this means average 10 minutes a game. Not gonna happen.

I could probably do everything except SM64 in under an hour though.

Was never a fan of this particular challenge because of the glitch abuse it relies on, mainly in 64, just to make it work. And of course, they make you play 64 last, meaning the most amount of retreaded ground if you can't get the glitches to work quickly.

It's pretty much the same sort of reason why I find things like GDQ uninteresting to watch.

Maybe if you're halfway decent at them. Personally I get killed by the first Goomba when I start each 2d Mario. Also I don't know the warps, so atm I could not beat any in under an hour.

It's just a matter of practice. If you're not trying to get a WR you can also kind of take short detours for power ups that speed runners would normally ignore and you can do things like dboost past Bowser at the end.

Hardest part is probably 8-4 LL and 7-2 USA as the castle of 8-4 is really fucking hard even with practice, and wart only has one way to beat him and lots of time spent invulnerable.

Its so arbitrary. Its very impressive but when you take into account the people that do runs like this do them over and over and over then its less so.

And they were counting the time to load the different games before and now they give 30 seconds. Its all arbitrary.

I imagine there are only a handful of people in the world capable of doing this.

Whistles and warp zones were basically intended to be used for QA so you could skip to specific levels. Same deal with a lot of cheat codes.
