I haven't played the game. But based on the middle of the episode...

I don't think cutting out so much of the infected from the show jives well with curing the infection being the primary goal. I would need to double check, but were they even in half the episodes?

Other than that, great show. Probably better if I didn't already know what was gonna happen, always tough for me to watch such direct adaptation in my medium.

The final four episodes featured 2 infected, both in flashbacks.

That being said, the last time we saw them clearly showed how devastating they were to humanity and what they're capable of.

Not wrong, but the lack of general infected presence throughout kind of makes that big scene in the neighborhood stand out as very....video gamey. Especially with a big boss monster showing up, which frankly was a bit silly.

I'm not usually one to say that's a problem, but it does feel slightly inconsistent.

I'm just being nitpicky, though, show was excellent.

One thing I like about the show is that every time infected appear, people die.

Episode 1: Lots of civilians, minor named characters, indirectly leads to Sarah's death.
Episode 2: Tess.
Episode 5: Kathleen, a bunch of soldiers, Sam.
Episode 7: Riley. Ellie would have also died if she wasn't immune.
Episode 9: Ellie's mom.

I think including them more would reduce the impact of when they do appear.

I mean, Joel getting like 15 headshots in a row is video gamey.

The whole point of that part was to show why FEDRA existed in the first place and how easily the Infected could overcome an improperly protected city.

Infected appear in episode 3.

Still no bricks, completely unwatchable.

But seriously, I thought it was a fine finale. Could've probably used a couple extra minutes but it was still good and a great way to finish the season. Really happy with how the show went and really looking forward to the next season.

Very surprised how much of this season was a shot for shot remake of the game.

The cynical part of me thinks its Druckmann being up his own ass about TLOU being the best story ever told in games and not wanting it to be changed.

Caught that in the credits, nice

I agree the episode was slightly rushed, and didn't need to be, but otherwise what a great adaptation. Thank god.

I also like the couple of small additions - Joel saying the hospital was attacked by Raiders is a more convincing and complete lie, and Ellie clarifying that she had to kill Riley cleans up the question of what happened after they both got bit which I always wondered about.

Another (possible) hidden thing, some people are saying the shadowy figure that runs away as Joel goes on his rampage was Abby. There's pictures that show the figure with a backpack and a hair braid.
