what's funny is that they were never going to lose it lol, microsoft has stated many, many times that it would stay multiplatform, because it wouldn't make financial sense to not, since the series is still an absolute cash cow

they wouldn't be able to pay for exclusive modes and marketing rights, either, which also scares them, since there's actually a sizeable part of the fanbase that things call of duty is actually playstation exclusive, it was startling when i saw that

i think it's viewed as more of a minecraft situation for it, just because of how much money it makes.

keeping something like starfield, tes, fallout exclusive makes more sense because, while they are financial blockbusters, there isn't as much of a need to keep something like that multiplatform. there's no multiplayer (ignoring the two exceptions, one of which isn't crossplay anyways), so it's not that necessary to push it to as many people as possible to lure them into mtx hell

aside from that, microsoft is pushing heavily to get games to more and more people very easily with xcloud and gamepass. it was a meme last gen that xbox would just go third party, but there is some truth to that already, since they want to put gamepass on everything

I always looked at it as Microsoft taking steps to get out of the hardware business because it doesn't make them money. If they become a platform like Steam or Epic, then they stand to make more money then making a console and trying to convince people to buy it with a handful of exclusives. Plus, they wouldn't make CoD exclusive because, again, they will make more money by making it available on Playstation.

If Sony stop Censoring their Games this would not be a Issue. There are far too Many kids on COD

I just don't care. The world's number one producer of some shitty FPS and literally nothing else might be bought by a company that doesn't really keep their games exclusive anymore. Oh no, what will do?
