Which dungeon/sword? You might be able to find someone to drag you through unsynced; should be pretty easy to do most of them at 90.

It's not in their plans to touch optional stuff. The only thing they've said is maybe msq trials for 7.0 series.

It's for the Paladin sword (the Curtana?) and I have to go through aurum vale in order to get amdapor keep to open up.

I might just give up on tank classes. It's nice that I have shorter wait times but I think it's not for me.

I've been back in Bozja for the past few days to upgrade some relics/hunt notes and I managed to get the Dalriada mount (which is currently selling for 20M on Lamia!)

Finally got the Bozja field note mount. Dabog pt 2 was the last set of notes I needed and it was a real pain; I was almost getting desperate enough to consider learning the duel!

I lost interest in getting that when Island Sanctuary came out and I could get a motorcycle that way.

I just got that one too this past week!

Still need to get the gator and 2/3 mandragoras, though

I caught my last one for the patch last week. It's nice being done with TT cards and fish but man was it a struggle to get to that point.

I still have like 8 EW cards to get... the dungeon ones feel like such a chore, and I haven't farmed any EW extremes so I'm also missing several trial cards (and trying to get those on normal seems like a waste if I'll eventually farm the extreme mounts)

Yeah some you just get unlucky for soooooo long. Took me just under 50 runs to get the p8 card and to go further back I had to do Drowned City of Skalla almost 100 times. That was the worst offender.

Thankfully there are some that you get on the first run to make up for the crappy ones. Law of averages or something.

Ive beat HoH a few times, but for PotD the best Ive done is wiping a few times in the 180s and it feels so bad to have that much progress destroyed

Got up to floor 81 in Orthos before wiping to a red mob

Protip: pull before using storms so they don't instantly tick back up to 10% hp, which can be too much to eat through before they wipe your whole party

I reached Endwalker this morning.

is it commonly accepted that Shadowbringers is the highlight of the game (at least pre-EW)? I really loved it. The way it made the Scions feel more like a standard FF party was great and really endeared me to all of them in a way I mostly wasnt before.

the scenes in the Source are pretty funny when you play as a Lalafell. its just three little people holding things together. And then occasionally a giant elven man shows up and has to have a serious conversation with three children.

also all the hanging out with the Scions made it click for me that they all (at least the ones in the first with you + Estinien) have grey/white hair. how odd.

yeah, there's a decently-sized contingent that prefer it to EW as well

I dont think theres a consensus on whether ShB or EW has the best MSQ (I prefer EWs but theyre both great)

Also man Im getting pretty frustrated trying to clear Orthos. I lost a very promising run yesterday on 69 because the tank decided for no reason to do a mass pull (I guess to storm) and we got OHKOd by a falak (does a massive donut aoe). There was absolutely no reason to take the risk; we had like 25 minutes left in the set. Im almost tempted to try to solo instead, but I dont think Im careful/focused enough (though my mistakes are typically not the type that would wipe a group).

Welp complaining works, managed to get an Orthos clear tonight!

Everyone else in my group had cleared before and we got through it super fast (under four hours I think). My gold sacks all had junk in them, though

It gets separated into groups of 10, and is a leveling option between 80-90.

Also, it's probably like PotD/Heaven on High where only the first half of the floors matter unless you're going for the rarer loot/titles or the bigger challenge.

Yeah you queue up for 10 floors at a time with either a matched or premade party. For a matched party you can only go up to floor 30; you can also start from either floor 1 or 21 (once you've cleared 1-20 once). Since it's a pretty efficient leveling method most people will just spam 21-30, which is quite easy.

The floors after 30 get quite a bit harder. You have an hour time limit for each 10 floor set, so if you're running 21-100 it'll take at most 8 hours (for the lower sets you're probably actually taking more like 30 minutes, and from what I've seen time is less of an issue than in past deep dungeons here so even in the higher sets it'll probably be more like 40-50). We were just blazing through in my run last night though and completing even a lot of the high sets in like 30 minutes.

My group cleared The Omega Protocol last night. Not really a fan of this one! Phase 1 is complete garbage, easily the worst phase ever put into an Ultimate. The fight is ludicrously punishing, even compared to other Ultimates - if anyone dies 95% of the time you wipe instantly, and the other 5% of the time you zombie to the end of the phase, people have to spend more resources to make up for the dead person's lost DPS, and then you wipe to enrage at the end of the next phase because you now don't have the DPS to meet the check.

In the interest of being fair, the back half of the fight is significantly better than the front. Phases 5 and 6 are genuinely satisfying to resolve (even if phase 6 is explicit that nobody is allowed to die). The fight is definitely visually spectacular, even to the point of being overwhelming at times. And any excuse to listen to Heartless is a big win in my book.

Overall, 4/10. Probably going to do as many reclears as my group can stand and then not come back to it for a very long time.
