RIP Can't imagine anyone willingly subjecting themselves to such a huge timesink. I always thought OP fans started it and kept watching it throughout the years hoping it would end but Oda was like Toriyama and DB and was like "HAHA OP make my bank account go BRRR" so he keeps crankin' the shit out.

Yeah I started watching 2 years ago and am not even 200 episodes in. But thats okay, its not going anywhere. Im drawn to big stories.

It does get a callback later, but in another, shorter filler arc.

Alright, according to the Crunchy Roll episode list/menu, we've officially finished "season 1"/The East Blue phase.

Onward we go.

Zoro's fighthing this entire nest of bounty hunters ally by himself. Fuck yeah.

I fucking love Zoro. He's probably the best example of a "generic badass" archetype done right I've ever seen.

Loyal as fuck, but outside of his loyalty to Luffy and his own personal moral compass, is cool to let most things slide till it becomes personal.

Zoro's my favorite so far.

Also, I like how (so far at least), while there is squabbaling and playful fighting amonst the crew, when it comes to serious situations, they're all weirdly good at following the lead of whoever is most qualified in that moment.

Something's wrong with the ship or the weather? Everyone shuts up and listens to Nami.

Something comes up in relation to bounties, or even really pirates or general combat? Everyone shuts up and listens to Zoro.

Hasn't come up as much, but when it comes to rationing and supplies, everyone shuts up and listens to Sanji.

Even Ussop has had a few moments where he's clearly the most knowledgeable on a specific thing, and (when it's clear he's not just BSing), everyone shuts up and listens.

idk, i just really like the crew's general dynamic so far.

I saw the title and thought it was gonna be Neon perving over Nami.

One Piece is great. It has the best sense of adventure of any anime I've ever seen so far.

Started watching back when the anime was reaching Water 7, and while I love it, the later arcs do become unbearable with their pacing. Once the Fishman Island arc started, I stopped watching weekly, and began just saving up a year+ worth of episodes to binge at a time (got 2 years worth of episodes to catch up on atm). I can't imagine going back to weekly.

So far I like her a lot, she's a solid addition to the crew, and I like that she's not afraid to tell Luffy when he's fucking up.

They just went to go find the witch/"hag" doctor and are fighting off a bunch of giant rabbits rn. Good shit.

I love Zoro so fucking much.

At this current point in time, I think he's my favorite character.

That said, I don't think I hate or even really dislike ANY of the current crew. Ussop and Sanji are probably the weakest characters rn IMO, but even then they add their own flavor to the crew and I enjoy their presence as a whole.

I thought so too, and it still might be, but so far, almost 100 eps in. Loving it.

It's a great show to watch before bed.

It's already become part of my nighttime routine to grab some snacks, smoke a little, watch a couple One Piece eps and then pass the fuck out.

We're finally in Albasta now!

Already loving Chopper's presence in the crew, good addition. I love how innocent and excited he is to see the world.

Alabasta was a standout arc in the anime. Total tone shift from lighthearted villain of the week feel to reasonably complex political drama. One Piece has so many high points but that was definitely the point where the entire anime got more complex.

This arc's getting pretty interesting, with all the political shit, the rain powder stuff, etc. Good shit.

Ace is pretty cool, looking forward to seeing more of his personality as we proceed.

One thing i did have spoiled for me about this series is I know that Ace dies at some point, I just don't know when that happens. I would guess not for a while, but I guess we'll see.

Early One Piece is really fun. Like others have said, the pacing goes to shit at some point, these days I keep my finger on the "skip 10 seconds" button and use it pretty liberally. I still like it but I'm not nearly as interested as I used to be.

Also I feel like the crew loses a lot of personality post time-skip. They sort of become caricatures of their former selves. Skypiea is where the show peaks imo.

Man, I feel so bad for Zorro sometimes. Middle of the dessert, he's gotta carry Chopper around cause he's heat sensitive, while simultaneously having to calm Luffy down cause he's in a heat induced rampage.

Also the fact that outside of maybe Nami, he's honestly (as of yet at least) by far the most street smart/common-sense-savi crew member.

My boi legit left a very lucrative bounty hunting career to follow this crazy rubber-man who ends up fighting Zorro every 20 episodes or so over some crazy shit.

"So that's Zorro's Comedy Hole?" is the best line in the entire series so far.

I'm rather drunk/high, so from where I'm at now, I'mma guess where each crew member ranks in smelliness, from least smelly to most smelly.

Least smelly:
Sanji
Nami
Ussop
Vivi (If we're including her, not sure if she's typically counted as a crew-member or not.)
Chopper
Zorro
Luffy

Sanji's too much of a "gentleman"/wanna-be ladies man to let himself be stinky, that dude probably smells like roses 24/7.

Nami cares about how she's perceived so she can manipulate and steal as needed, she wouldn't let herself cause attention by being smelly.

Same thing to a lesser degree for Ussop; he's all about telling stories about how grandiose he is, I feel like in his mind, heroes wouldn't smell bad, so he'd at least keep up with basic hygiene

Vivi's a princess and knows how to keep presentable, but living in a dessert nation her whole life, I feel like she'd care less about sweat and such, so she might be a little more lax in that regard.

Chopper's gonna have a hard time escaping the reindeer smell, but he also seems to be relatively put together and cares about his general appearance, so I doubt he'd let it get too bad.

Zorro probably gives 0 shits about how he smells, but at the very least when he's doing some crazy training routines he probably swims through rivers naked or some shit and gets at least somewhat clean.

Luffy has probably literally never bathed. Between not giving a fuck and not being able to swim, you can't tell me this dude has taken a bath in the past decade.
