I wish we got at least one more game in its style. Although I also wish the encounter rate was like, halved.

I found a copy at a used shop, caseless, $25.

I remember it being marketed as having "new Digimon that will appear in season 4!"

And then like, except for Agnimon, all the anime digimon were exclusive to the movie that English-speaking territories wouldn't (officially) get until like, 5 years after the anime was cancelled as a quietly dropped Jetix premiere with no reruns or physical release >_>

i remember grinding for evolution was tedious.
lower encounter rate would also mean less evolution.

they are pretty different games. Next Order's downside is that it's really short in a way, you can beat it in one or two generations of Digimon.

idk, I finished the game within two generations of Digimon. And the story isn't exactly dense.

Have you played 2003? It's worth it if you can.

I loved the original as a kid even though I could never figure how to get anything to evolve into what I wanted. I even had a guidebook and still got fucking numemon all the time lol.

Anyway I got Next Order and really enjoy. It plays and looks like a PSP game but it's an RPG so that's whatever

If you ever go back to DW1, the code has finally been cracked on evolution. There's basically 4 "groups" of criteria the game looks at and you only need 3/4 to match for the evo to be valid.

Stats, which I assume most of us assumed were critical, are all actually grouped as a single, all-or-nothing evolution flag and completely extraneous if you can get the other 3. Usually worth shooting for with adult digimon, completely unrealistic for perfects.

The other three groups are weight, care mistakes, and "bonus" (which is not all or nothing. Achieving any of the bonus conditions counts for it)

This calculator was a godsend on my last playthrough. Finally got that MetalGreymon I'd been wanting since I was ten <_<
