What is Game of the Month Club Replay?
Game of the Month Replay is a community project based upon the Game of the Month Club. Much like the GOTM Club, it's open to all B8ers where users share, discover, play and/or discuss a bonus chosen game every month. The two games featured each month are chosen by YOU the users (and Lady Luck).

The only catch is, it must be a game that the GOTM Club has already played, so it's an opportunity to replay games you may have missed out on the first time or just want to try again.

The Basics
- Each month will usually feature two games that were chosen via a random drawing from a pool of games that users nominated
- For each of the games you beat you get a cool point on our just-for-fun standings as well as a nomination for next month's randomized drawing
- In order to receive the point and nomination, you must beat said game within the calendar month
- If you beat one of the current month's games in the previous month, you can apply for a "recently beaten waiver," but you will only receive a point and no nomination should you do so
- Drawing for next month's game is usually on the 25th
- If you periodically keep us posted on your progress and/or talk about different aspects of the games, then everyone will think you are super awesome!

Nomination Rules
- You get one nomination automatically each month
- You receive additional nominations each month for beating the featured game
- Each game you nominate has to be one that was already nominated for the GOTM Club.
- You can nominate games that have already been selected for the Replay Topic, but not the same game twice in a row.
- Each game must be a standalone game that can be acquired and played on its own (aka cannot be DLC/expansion that requires the base game)
- Nominations only carry over if you beat a featured game after the drawing for next month's game but before the end of the month

God I am so stupid for making a bunch of posts here in the wrong topic lol. My apologies for the unsightly chain of deleted messages.

I will start Sexy Brutale again sometime this week. I want to replay SMB3 also, but I don't know if I feel like grabbing a system stored away for this. I did forget to put away some Wii Motes from the last time, so maybe this is a good excuse to bring out my Wii...

I started Sexy Brutale and had needed an adjustment period getting used to how this game controlled again. I messed up in the tutorial and had to rewind time again.

Regarding the second murder, I did remember that the blind woman was going to be attacked by a spider. I went around the casino not trying to prevent the murder but trying to find the damn clock that the winder belonged to. I inadvertently saved her life, so lol go me. I never ended up finding that clock.

Tag. Gonna play Mario, and I may try The Sexy Brutale time permitting. I remember wanting to play it the first time it came around but I don't think I had it at the time.

It doesn't take too long, I think in the ballpark of five hours.

I'm probably just sticking with Mario, December is a busy month. So far I'm up to world 3. Playing the Super Mario All Stars version so I can save.

i have saved seven guests in Sexy Brutale. Things are humming along, but I still am getting used to the slower movement and action process. I think the PS4 version might just be weaker than the XB1 and PC versions that I have played because I don't recall the choppy frame rate that I have experienced a few times now.

Playing Sexy Brutale on Steam Deck and nothing has been choppy so far, but it definitely feels sluggish to perform certain actions. Sometimes I'll have to hit A like 2-3 times before it lets me go through a door.

I do love the game's vibes though. Love a game where you explore a weird house.

SMB3 beated!

Played on the NES Classic, so I made ample use of save states to make my life easier, though I did do a "complete" playthrough and not a "warp whistle to Word 8" run. I was somewhat surprised just how much I remembered, though I did play the shit out of this game both on the NES and the All-Stars version on SNES.

Still a wonderful game, though it took me a bit to get used to the floaty controls again. I'd forgotten just how generally short most of the stages are. Waaaaay too many battles with Boom Boom. The "puzzle" stages could be a little annoying, though I don't think they're quite as bad as they are in SMB1; then again I remembered quite a few of the "tricks".

I've always been Team SMB3 > World. And...maybe...well, no, before I say anything more, I think we need to play through SMW again.

I remembered not being a fan of how sluggish the ending parts of the game were, but man that was rough wrestling control away from you for what felt like a fifth of the game. Still a great fan of the guest-saving segments!

Some interesting things but I wasn't super impressed overall. Sure wish it had been a Game Pass game rather than plunking down $20 for it. I was under the gun to finish this tonight, so I did look up some hints online for a few things. I think I ended up with 48 of the cards but I wasn't going to bother going for the last few.

At this point, it seems unlikely that I will get to SMB3 before whenever the drawing is going to be.

I'll make the drawing Sunday since people tend to be busy on Christmas Day.

Started up SMB3, should finish it next week.

I also started The Sexy Brutale, already got through the first three scenarios. The 2nd one I managed on my 2nd try on complete accident I grabbed the camera codes right as my first casino run ended, then very quickly turned on the correct camera and switched the feed without realizing that was the solution on the next one. I spent more time on the first one lol.

Great game! Definitely a more refined experience compared to the first game. Now I just need to play World so I can finally compare the two myself. Definitely way too much Boom Boom though.
