Maybe by the time the playoffs start, we won't be throwing out our 6th string HB who is actually a LB. Hopefully one of Miyan or Treyveon is healthy

But really the killer against Michigan was just explosive play after explosive play by Michigan. You can't allow bad teams to do that to you, nevermind elite ones.

Eh, I think him leaving within the next 2-3 years at most is inevitable regardless. He realizes he's done the most he can do at Michigan, and I think he really wants to coach in the NFL again. He'd like to win, sure, but this is probably the best shot at it he's going to get.

Coaches and players lie in public of necessity so you shouldn't take everything they say at face value. It's not a shot at Harbaugh's integrity. It's just an accepted part of the game. He could never say "I'd like to leave Michigan someday and go back to the NFL," even if that's actually how he feels.

Based on his comments, I wholeheartedly believe him. At 58, signing a five-year big money deal - coming after asking U of M to give him another year with a pay cut to prove himself - I think there's something about enjoying the culture of Ann Arbor and those players. He seems genuinely happy to be coaching these men and his family is very happy as well.

There were reports just last season he interviewed for the Vikings job. I have no doubt Harbaugh loves Michigan, but he might consider the NFL unfinished business.

Yeah, he talked about that as "This is the last time I'll have a chance to explore another job". I think he even called it a "walkabout." It makes sense, if you're preparing for that last commitment.

Just like last year Iowa's top 2 receivera are going to the transfer portal.

The bowl game is going to be horrific. Especially since LaPorta will likely chose to sit so it's just the back up TE and #3 WR left from the main roster.

I do wonder how badly this Guaranteed Third-Rate Bowl will go without him, though, because we put all our eggs in his basket. At least we'll have opportunity in the transfer portal for Fickell to find "His Guy."

He's only played 3 games this season and basically every time he has tried to go he would tweak his hamstring so I get it. Makes sense for both parties for him to just sit it out really

Pretty lame lol. That said, Stetson Bennett earned it the last 2 years, and although I wish Corum was a finalist, he really needed to have played against Ohio St.

Bennett is a cool story but Hooker had a better season by any metric other than he doesn't play with 20 NFL players

It's almost exclusively a "successful team QB" award.

The NFL MVP is the same thing.

Every once in a while you get a surprise, but that's about it.

Nah, the Heisman isn't that. A QB wins it most of the time, sure, but it's not the NFL MVP where only the best QBs on the best teams need apply.

This was just a weird year where there wasn't someone having an obviously amazing year, but Hooker at least deserved recognition for what he did.

Just to show a little begrudging respect to Michigan, Corum should've been a finalist, too. Getting punished for being injured and missing their last game despite the fact that they were clearly having Heisman worthy campaigns (Hooker was the betting favorite and for good reason literally a month ago) is so bad.

If the Heisman is just going to become "let's give it to the QBs going to the playoffs" (except whoops USC didn't make it) then just stop having the Heisman.

I support getting rid of the Heisman. It's never been interesting ever since they stopped their voters from releasing their ballots publically.

eh I also think this sort of thing is a product of the social media age in a couple ways

1 - if it happened more than a week ago it's old news and everyone's forgotten about it

2 - it's much easier to build a consensus now (some people started talking about Caleb Williams for Heisman a few weeks ago and others quickly started jumping on the bandwagon, and suddenly he's the favorite to win)

that being said, I have no clue who started saying Stetson Bennett should get Heisman votes, that's utterly baffling to me

I'm not even sure this is just a southern thing because Hooker won SEC Offensive Player of the Year and 1st Team All-SEC while Bennett was 3rd Team (I know they're not the same voters but still)

It should probably just be Duggan, guys an absolute gutsy ballshaver.

Heres my Bryce Young FACT: In addition to posting the same absurd numbers as last year, he DID NOT LEAVE THE FIELD in the 4th or OT with alabama down. Just clutch for days in spite of this being a 2 loss team.

I also think Michael Penix and Bo Nix should feel insulted. And that if youre gonna go with someone plauing for Georgia it should be someone on their defense.
