the wifi we're stuck with is just can't manage going through the house

we're in a basement flat and the internet comes down into my sister's room via ethernet into a booster that is supposed to spread it to the rest of our level but uh clearly doesn't work well - but my sister's computer in the livingroom has 50Mbps but then my room is the worst

her partner's computer is a few feet from hers and he's just getting a bit more than me, we're gonna try though getting ethernet cables to plug into those boosters into each of our computers, if not that then take that ethernet cable going into my sister's room and plug that into an ethernet and we can hope that does better, if not run a longggg ethernet from that (which frankly I would like to do the most, but would require the most work to uh basically get that cable around the complete opposite side of the flat

oh well at least we have a Plan A, B, and C to work on

coming up on 2 years in May, I don't think she could play games yet but I have today got her at least to understand the spacebar can pause/play videos and she had fun with that

putting cocomelon on the computer and her just pressing space then turning to see that it paused, then pressing it again and watching it come on... loop at 5 second intervals

it's cool watching her understand that this one button out of all the others on the computer can do that function

Looks like Penelo's been getting a lot of love in DFFOO for the 5th anniversary.

Gotta say, I'm being compelled to give the game a serious go.

wew it sure is a lot of powercreep to be catching up with, the tricky bottleneck is Character Points which don't really get rewarded in permanent content but rather current events (decently boosted with a Moogle Pass)

tbh I loved the Lufenia era but the Shinryu content is like a same-y drag that boils what used to be a varied niche of characters into just basically two types: damager dealers & FR gauge builders. The FR weapons are pretty frustrating as well because you can use one at a time to enter Force Time so you really only need one character in your party with an FR, unlikely to use another so I haven't been eager to collect them.

On the positive side for that though, FR Echoes are coming I think next month which allows you to use FR weapons during force time, which means every character in the party can and should actually be using them together. I think it starts with Terra & Garnet at the start of March. I don't know how much Echoes will actually fix Shinryu content but at least I'm looking forward to it.

Anniversary Penelo Global First yay, I am at least a Penelo fan and I'm kinda happy we're not getting yet another FF9 global first which became a bit of a meme with the anniversaries for Vivi LD & Garnet BT. Garnet was a bit of a support beast and Penelo's kind of just that again now better for the current era. She was on the very first banner when FRs hit, so she was the first decent supercharger at the time that's kind of trailed off, but this now brings her up further than ever.

Good for me because before this Hope was the best supercharger and I didn't wanna pull for him because lol Hope, but Penelo now beats him out! For now I'm satisfied with just her FR in <200 tickets, but I'll be going gems though on Jessie's new full kit which will also have Penelo BT on it.

yupppp definitely my favourite now, the more unique design using fav colours dillo-relateable armour and yay skirt back on the menu, tried to exaggerate a bit with line width variation to see how it would come out and it does feel a bit more personal, yay this time green hair highlights fit and lmao goofy mecha boots

rigging too's gone the best yet, I was a bit concerned with mouth because I didn't separate shadow so when I added the new mouth layers in it would clearly show lines around the lip where the layers begin - but just masking the overall head colour layer over those lip layers worked out easing that concern. buuunch more individual physics layers, probably should split chestplate up from booba to be stiffer but nah I enjoy the goofiness and screw that work. also first time with an angy mode I'm liking

just all an all real happy with it!

we did not have too much of a good time in osaka :sweatsmile: we got to universal studios and a pokemon cafe there but otherwise it was very crowded and overwhelming for 2 introverts

I'm seeing it say the service ends 5/15 but started 5/27 so that wouldn't be a full year!

but yeahhhhh I don't even think I stayed for till the end of the first month, right from the jump builds were certainly costly and the content was even hard so it felt like the game already wanted me to have a full parties of well-built characters, but again, even grinding for decent equipment was a real job

although I admit it's tough for a game to start, like I remember back in the days when dffoo artifact grinding was absolutely absurd to get perfect arts. although even then it wasn't so important and I don't think the game was ever that demanding

I do tho have fond memories of dffoo early days back when Tidus introducing the first 35cp weapon was the big deal lmao

also because i finished overlay I did a private testing stream while i finished up fortnite weeklies (yes i've gotten ocd hooked completed those a while)

Yeah, I got to ch 3 and just stopped. Even ch 2 got too challenging for me. Maybe I'll push to the end, a year's worth of content shouldn't be too bad to get through, especially when a game announces its end of service, they usually shower you with stuff to get through everything. Though I do find it odd how they're already at a Season 2 story, when the game hasn't even gone through a year yet, so they were probably intending on it having a short life for awhile.
