The aftermath of this is going to really piss me off. What Wagner did was dirty what Hayes did they don't even allow in combat sports and is fucking ridiculous.

However what will piss me off is that the Magic bench are going to get 7-8 suspensions for this whilst the Pistons will get none outside of Diallo and Hayes. League rules are stupid and Magic players are going to get an automatic suspension for leaving their bench in the altercation. Meanwhile Pistons players won't get shit because the altercation started at their bench so they are protected by the rule. Yet it only happened at their bench because Diallo pushed Wagner into their bench and then Hayes sucker punched him.

If it happens on the court, both teams eat the suspension. Or there isn't a massive coming together of bench players and neither team gets involved.

League rules don't care about circumstances or intent though

I think Hayes penalty is a joke. Should have been way more severe for what he did (regardless of it being retaliation). Especially considering the Magic players got the mandatory 1 game suspension just for leaving the bench.

Then I'm fucking throwing a punch and laying out Hayes for what he did because it's absolutely worth an extra 2 games suspension to make sure he gets his. I agree. The only clear out of line player was Hayes and it wasnt even close. He took it to a whole other level and he just gets 3 games? One more than the next guy mind you and only two more from bench clearers.

It's not that baffling. Some people believe that instigators deserve the most blame in situations. Wagner instigated it. You might not agree but it's not an uncommon belief imo.

Normally I'm on board with that line of thinking but Hayes literally did something they don't even allow in MMA for being too dangerous.

You know why Hayes only got 3 games too? Because the person in charge of the penalties was Joe Dumars. Like how is that not a conflict of interests? Obviously they won't say that's why but that looks to be the case to me.

Also zero Pistons players got suspensions for leaving the bench area but look at the replay, a shit ton of them stepped onto the court which if you're going to go letter of the law for the Magic players, you should for the Pistons too.

I legitimately hope that when the Magic play the Pistons later this month, someone retaliates against Hayes purely because of how ludicrously dangerous what he did was. And I never usually feel that way.

What Wagner did was dirty and dangerous but players push other guys out of bounds all the time. It happens and he deserves the punishment / flagrant 2.

Nobody ever punches another guy in the back of the head because it could literally kill someone.

Carmelo got 15 games for a punch that wasn't as dangerous. Granted that was Stern era.

On the bright side I think once they get Book and Cam back theyll be set. Plus I think going into the playoffs with a lowered seeding and expectations works better for this team.
