everyone gets excited for Black Friday and Cyber Monday, and then there's those of us who work for delivery services

Just finished To The Moon. The ending felt a little abrupt, but overall, a cool concept for a game. If you're looking for a short, easy-to-follow story with no frills (the gameplay is just finding story triggers and solving very basic puzzles), it's worth a shot. I like the presentation of how the story is gradually unfolded.

It was barely even a thing here not many years ago, but has drastically grown. Can't say I'm a fan at all despite not really having to have anything to do with it.

Back down to just Fire Emblem Heroes. I don't know how people juggle multiple gacha games at a time. They take up so much time.

But... you did it with Dragalia Lost and FEH for 4 years?

I only played Dragalia Lost for 2 months and it cut into my sleep schedule a lot! Although, I had to play a lot to get through the backlog of content so maybe it isn't so bad if it was spread out over 4 years.

Finished Star Ocean 6 today. Way better than it had any right to be. Going to try and go for the platinum.

Yeah, user SaveEstelle loved it, too. He almost got me interested in trying it out!

Its very reminiscent of PS2-era JRPGs in a mostly good way. You can obviously tell there were budget constraints in areas, but I really enjoyed it.

I'm probably going to start it next week. Hoping it's better than Valkyrie Elysium, which was fun, but not exactly good (combat was a blast, everything else was subpar).

Yeah, I'm usually the same way, but it managed to get me this year. I felt miserable last night, but while I still don't feel great today, I do feel a little better, at least.

Also I might start Three Hopes while I'm at home on the mend, so I need to decide if I want to pick Black Eagles first since I never picked them in Three Houses (I do want to get to it eventually) or pick Blue Lions because best house.

Ive been feeling pretty crappy myself the past ten days or so with insomnia issues (which I now suspect I accidentally triggered by starting caffeine withdrawal). I wasnt even planning on quitting, just temporarily reducing my consumption, but now Im scared that if I go back on it itll just reset the timer on my symptoms!

Started Three Hopes. Wow, both the new MC and Byleth speak! That's already a point in its favor, although I wish they wouldn't have made them nameable. Have we learned nothing from Tidus?

Also they did a good job of establishing how fearsome of a fighter Byleth is.

Agreed that using canon names for Shez and Byleth would've been better. Also love introducing Byleth as a relentless killer. Not really an aspect of her personality that got much focus in 3Houses... since none of her personality got focus there lol.

Two and a half routes into 3Hopes so far, myself. Claude and Edelgard routes are quite similar, so I don't think it's all that necessary to do both. The half is for Dimitri, and that's been relatively similar too. It's a bit of a shame the routes aren't more unique, but oh well. I think the overall story of Edelgard's route was a bit better and made more sense in general.

One tip: if you're doing Black Eagles, use a guide when you get to chapter 12 to make sure you (minor spoilers? I dunno) recruit Byleth. You miss a sizeable chunk of the game if you fail the recruitment. You'll get a warning beforehand, like "your actions in this chapter will drastically change the outcome of the story"

Well, I'm watching USA/Netherlands since I'm not working during game times for once.

It's sad that my only breaks from work are when I get sick.

I'm kinda sad not every line of dialogue is voiced in Three Hopes like it is in the original game, but I get that was probably a bit too much to hope for (no pun intended).

Can't tell who has a new VA yet or not.

All right, decided to roll with Black Eagles in Three Hopes. Interesting that they make Shez a student instead of an instructor, with literally Jeritza as the new third instructor now. This should be good.

Black Eagles is the route with the most Jeritza so you should be happy on that front

Based on this first mission I am already well pleased

hey LotM congrats on Michigan making it to the playoffs again (although I know you don't actually care about sports that much)

and since they don't have to play Georgia first this year, they might actually win a playoff game

this weekend's results just make me sad to realize that Tennessee would have been a lock for the playoffs if we hadn't pooped the bed against South Carolina, but alas

Yeah I've never really cared much about sports in and of themselves (I very rarely actually watch games, and I never played any even as a kid), but I have a bit of fun following the results of the teams of schools I have some affiliation with (and my dad's always been a big Michigan fan since he went there, so it's another thing to talk to him about).

Finished the third island in Sonic Frontiers. It took me a while to get the hang of it, but I wound up really enjoying this part of the game. Same thing with the boss, actually.

I enjoyed Rings of Power, but this does a good job of highlighting the flaws with it in a comical way (and why Tolkien's style is hard to imitate). Also, this dude's Boromir impression is spot on. Almost everything he says cracks me up.

Oh wow, already done with the fourth island on Sonic Frontiers. Short but sweet. Six "obstacle courses" and a ton of lore. I'll take it.

Both of my roommates are moving out (yet again... roommate replacements #6 and 7 since summer 2021), and I'm getting way fewer responses than in previous searches. I'm not sure if it's because I'm no longer a grad student myself, because I'm advertising both rooms together, or the market's worse this year, but even last winter at almost exactly this time (my previous most difficult search) I was probably getting five times as many inquiries. I'm actually worried that I might not be able to find anyone and I may have to move out, possibly back in with my parents. Because I'm currently job-searching (and not exclusively locally) I can't reasonably sign a new year lease, and I don't think I'd be a particularly competitive subtenant applicant.

Oh no, that sucks. Hopefully everything falls into place for you one way or another.

Oh hey, Sonic Frontiers finally had a Cyberspace level that wasn't Green Hill/Chemical Plant/Sky Sanctuary. That Speed Highway level was awesome. Imagine if there was more variety in the zone selection in this game!

(There have been some really good levels in this game, don't get me wrong, but they could've done even more)
