Never met one, but I've seen them.

Imagine being someone who convinced an Amish person to stay out here and never return to their homes again.

I did. She wore a long jean skirt thing that went down to her ankles every single day. That is all I remember about her.

Here in Australia we have the Brethren. They're kind of Amish-y.

Back home, the Amish don't live that far away. They always park their buggies in parking lots to sell fruit, veggies, and quilts. They are always at livestock shows and auctions too.

Post-college and pre-grad school, I was hanging out with some friends from high school at a house party and some Amish people on Rumpsringa were there. Pretty socially awkward and you could tell it was their first time really drinking and socializing. Friend of mine ended up fucking one of them.

He thought he was in love so he went back and told his family he was leaving. He was understandably hurt when she said it was a one-time thing.

Like, KNOW know? naw. Met plenty back in Goshen, but Goshen catered heavily to the local amish communities, even a lot of major retail chains in town hand covered stalls for horses in their parking lot. Haven't met or seen any since moving out of Indiana.

But I still remember that them black bonnet girls make the whole amish world go 'round.

That Jeff Goldblum series on Disney+ had an episode where he was visiting a motorhome factory in Goshen (or maybe Elkhart?) and he interviewed a Mennonite dude who was working for them.

Goldblum was like "Wait, how can you work here and be Amish" and the guy was like "Well I don't drive it or live in it so it's okay"

And that reminded me of a lot of farmers and construction companies in Southern Indiana would hire out Amish guys and drive them around in their own trucks because it was a loophole the elders found acceptable.

Thanks, now I have to watch Goldblum's show just to see my home town featured. Lonesome Jim was not enough.

Don't think I've ever met an Amish person. There is a large Mennonite community where I grew up, they are kind of like Amish but use electricity and cars.

Kinda. I used to go to the farmer's market here regularly and got really friendly with one of the jam vendors but I don't know if she was specifically Amish. Something within that realm definitely though.

I should go again. Haven't been since 2018 for a few reasons

I happened upon an Amish guy at a club in my old hometown once. His name was Amos. We drank and he followed my gf and I home. Turns out he was hoping to see some titty. She had to pretend to go to sleep to make him go away.

So he stayed the night at your place? What did you think of the situation?

No, he left once he realized he didn't get to see any sexy time.

They come across very rude from my encounters. The kids are usually nice enough but any adults I've run into are not.
