My goal for a long time has been climatology. I live in Texas and I'm shocked at the speed of the country's decline. Democrats are asleep at the wheel while Republicans run scattershot of the last 70 years of Civil Rights advancements. It's not that they "just" want a kickback to the states, it's that individual states want no regulation on pollution, no right to privacy, and a Christian theocracy.

This is not the America I grew up in. This is horrifying, even as a Deist. Any claim of "Oh, you're just fear mongering" is out the door. I love my local community, but I think even average folk will get destroyed by this modern policymaking. Republicans can't run states and already generally bleed them dry, and now they won't even let people have body autonomy - even in a sexual sense once Lawrence is overturned - and they'll probably make us sit in state-sanctioned churches while we freeze or sear to death under climate disasters.

Seriously considering setting myself up for Northern Europe, New Zealand, or Canada at this point if the country doesn't engage in civil disobedience to end this nonsense.

Yeah, that's the rough part and why I say "In the next ten years." I think a STEM field would help and I do think that other countries will be more open to Americans as things continue to spiral out of control, though.

At the very least get a passport soon if you don't have one. If you're possibly able to claim citizenship by descent/etc anywhere start looking into that sooner than later. I've gotta get on it myself.

Good luck. I imagine getting citizenship in another country aint easy unless youre moving to like Rwanda. Look how hard it is here. It takes like a decade even if youre lucky enough to be one of the chosen few.

How is people leaving going to help America?

People who see the truths of what is happening need to stay. America only gets fixed from within, with the people who have the courage to make a difference

If you love your community, you need to stay.

Whether done through blood or whatever else, this is a battle that needs to be fought. Literally all Americans rights are in danger.

I work in immigration. Moving country to country is hard. Good luck navigating the process. I have little faith that this will happen.
