How his legacy predates even the heyday of YouTube, how he was a big somebody on Newgrounds first and then when YouTube came along he became an even bigger somebody.

But somehow Jontron, his "sidekick," broke off and now has more subscribers than either of Egoraptor's channels. Sometimes I think about what that means.

I dont have anything to add to this topic, except to say I read the title as exeggutor and was amused.

It's less popular than Jontron, and that's what I want to understand the meaning of. Gamegrumps is arguably just one part of Egoraptor's brand, but Jontron alone is bigger than Egoraptor's whole brand.

jontron was funny and his videos were entertaining

gamegrumps is an entirely different type of show, and it's heavily dependant on several factors

to condense a whole giant thing i typed, it's becoming more and more obvious that danny only used game grumps to push his music career and now that that could stand on its own he's becoming more and more checked out

arin tried to do too many things, hired too many people for roles that have no purpose, general burnout from being the only one actually playing the games ever.

gamegrumps suffered pretty much entirely because arin doesn't really know how to run a business, and because danny is useless.

GameGrumps has mostly suffered from YouTube's garbage expectations for content creators. Peak GameGrumps was 2014 to 2016, after Jon left. In recent years they've been harmed by playing games that aren't particularly interesting, by excessive self promotion, and by having to change their format to meet advertiser rules.

Jon makes like 4 videos a year. People generally don't unsubscribe from channels that produce little content. His white supremacist views that he's shared away from his channel didn't really offend his fans that much.

I don't know why Jon has more subscribers. I also don't really care.

Jontron is an ethno nationalist who lives in New Hampshire. Only know the other guy because he made one really good video in early Youtube.

Oh it came out nice.

I remember Egoraptor making those animations of his and being popular way back in the 2000's, I loved his parody animations, then he started doing sequelitis and showed me he knows nothing about game design despite claiming to have enlightened level otherwise, then he did Gamegrumps and really solidified that he's not qualified to critique games even as a consumer.

But I dislike him mainly because he's an egotistical dickhead, I suppose the name fits though.

Their Podcast crap had me avoid their channel for a long time.
I've been watching their videos since the FFXII one (so decade+) and only watch their skit videos because lifeblog bropodcasts are incredibly cringe.

Easy, Arin is someone who does YouTube for money. It is obvious he has no passion for what he does and only does it because he doesn't want to work a traditional 9 to 5 job. That shows through in his work and makes it less appealing.

Jon only does videos when he feels passionate about it. Sure, he makes a ton of money doing it but you get the feeling he would still be doing it even if he was pulling in only a couple thousand viewers (just with much lower production quality). That means people enjoy his videos more.

Gamegrumps might be a different show, but Egoraptor has his own channel and JonTron dwarfs that too.

Yeah that's around the same time I started watching them. Those videos were great because I've been to many of the places they went to.
