I don't know if there's an RPG with a worse good to bad game ratio that has this much brand awareness.

I guess the menu sound effects are just THAT good. They add like a full point to the game's score!

Speaking of which, could we ever see Chrono Trigger or Cross characters in Final Fantasy Brave Exvius?

Fujimoto: I am very aware that we receive a lot of requests about Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross. We, too, want to have a collaboration with those titles, but its difficult to make it a reality due to circumstances involving rights and such.
If we ever do reach a point where the situation changes, we will of course look into the possibility of realizing this collaboration once again.

They're technically in the same universe, but I think they're all hundreds of years apart and take place on different planets.

Only ever played the 3rd one on PS2 and got bored of it not long in. Since then i've heard nothing but bad things about these games.

What comes to mind to me for "some person or organization who could conceivably have a say over licensing rights for CT characters but no involvement with CC ones" is Akira Toriyama.

I'd hesitate to call any of these games great, but I enjoy them enough (plus my infamous plat of SO4)

Watching again, and I just DON'T GET how they can fail so uterly at character models?

Do they just not realize how terrible these models are for this aesthetic? The game would look several times better if they just used Tales style anime models. It feels like they're going in the opposite direction out of spite at this point.

The game looks fine visually on every other front, but the characters are so bad! The main guy is SO UGLY!!

When I heard that girl say "What is this???", I was so disappointed to not hear "It's blood. I hope this isn't Chris' blood".

I will always hold a soft spot for 3. It was the first one that I played. It also had Nel making up for Fayt's sheer fucking derpy vibes. The invention system was pretty expansive, but was let down the randomness factor. I know they had random numbers to avoid spamming "lol, Orichalcum weapons in seconds", but holy crap. And goddamnit that plot twist. I know the story was barebones basic shit...but I knew that was a wet fart in church of a twist, even without context. I've never forgiven them for that. 1 and 5 were serviceable (thought 5's budget led to some weird ass visuals). I'm not expecting much here. I give the series credit for being unabashed Star Trek nerds and dripping in that style. It's not good or anything, but I love the Trek-ness dripping from it whenever it isn't drowning in anime.

But yes. Whoever designs these characters can't make faces for crap. Elena has THE BOOBS...but make a fucking face. Good dub cast though. Unless they have that little girl or robot saying "kay," it'll at least beat as decent as 3 and 5 was.

As for anyone asking, Star Ocean is standalone. Given the spotty nature of its releases, it sure as fuck benefits from not being connected to anything. I'm just shocked they even have the balls to still exist after 3's shitty twist. It was all a video game via a parallel world, the characters were computer data, and the main villain was a stupid programmer dude.

This one seems to be doing the SO2 thing of picking either the guy or the girl to start

I guess the question is how much are thier playthroughs going to differ

the characters are indeed terrible to look at and the flying "animation" seems busted

still gonna play this garbage game and enjoy it though
