We cant even do that. Were moving in. Too early, as well. The building was supposed to be done before we started coming over. It looks like it wont even be ready for 2 more weeks. Stupid.

Also, I wouldnt do 8+ hours or sweeping and dusting. Id rather just not be employed if I have to do house chores. Lol

I so want to email my boss and just tell him to call me when its ready to go back to work. I have no interest to build cabinets... or put things away. Especially since THEY dont even know where they want things to go.

I cant stand it. Id rather go home and go back to sleep or play a game. Sure Im paid. But it just isnt worth it to me.

Actually I could go pick up a couple of bug bombs and go set them off in my garage. Ive found 3 black widows/faux black widows in the past few days... and I need to get under the car in there to pull the starter to have it tested. Kinda dont want to right now. I dont like spiders. Lol

Sounds awesome. Put on some music and have an easy day.

Thats basically what Ive been doing. If I could read or something along with it... but just music isnt enough.

Well, one of my coworkers finally came over from the old shop... so he put me to work cleaning the drawer liners and putting the grinding fixtures away.

Okay, no problem.

Oh wait, problem... the drawer liners dont fit. I asked about this two weeks ago. We have no way to modify them.

So now, clean and just unpackage all the grinding fixtures. Without a way to lift the pallet so I have to bend over and pick up 50 pound fixtures. Woo.

My boss suggested I start putting together tables. I flat refused because I am still sore from doing all of the heaviest work at the old place. He didnt even press it.

Right now Im fiddling on my phone to make this 30 minute job take a lot longer.

And before anyone says anything about me refusing to do possible work: not in my job description. I will not needlessly hurt myself because of their inability to prepare and get workers whose job it would be. Like what was discussed before I ever started here.

Im the worst for knowing my worth and refusing to be a pack mule. Got it.

I hate that shit, I usually start between the lunch rush and dinner rush so if it is a slow morning there's nothing to do when I get in

On days like that I grab a towel or rag and a spray bottle and just keep them nearby and chill

if someone comes around, oh nothing Im just cleaning

Well, worked for 8 hours. Did like 90 minutes worth of stuff.

The desks in the office area are already done.

But theres like 8 in there, no real place to hide. In fact when I was working in the grinding room was one of the best places to hide in the new shop.

Oh yeah, my boss tried to get me to go get my computer from the old building to transport it.

Two problems: I am in no way transporting company property on my personal vehicle. Its only an 8 mile drive but I wont be responsible for it if something happens. This is the third company Ive helped move and all the things theyre expecting me to do I have never done in the other two. The company is responsible for moving everything. Not I.

The second point is, just like everything else, they dont know what desk is going to be mine. So much like the rest of the rest of the stuff, Im not putting stuff away just to be told to move it.

This is seriously the least organized move Ive ever been a part of.

Well, been busy for an hour... kind of.

Now they want me to unbox all of the tool holders for the machine I mainly use

Fourth time I ask where to put the extra 40 holders? They finally admit they dont even have the cabinet for it yet. It didnt arrive with the rest.

oh, and no compressed air so the machine wont run to move the tool changer.

Oh, and I found two of the feet not installed on the machine... so it shouldnt even be used yet.

Oh, and no trash cans for the 18 metric tons of bubble wrap.

This was the second half of my day lol. The tech putting together our brand new 5 axis machine had a fitting fail when she was testing to coolant pump. That was after I had already mopped 5 gallons of the floor.

Ended up close to 8 and theres still some left under the second machine thats slowly oozing out.

Yay.
