Is there a trick to him?

I've beaten him many times over the years but it's always a slog involving grinding up to 40-50 hearts and triple cross by going up and down the stairs, then just machine gunning crosses while whipping the fireballs on his first form, then machine gunning crosses to damage race the second form.

Like it just seems like he teleports RIGHT ON YOU and for the life of me I can never reliably avoid that happening enough times to kill him in one try. And then the second form I pretty much have to just exploit temporary invincibility from getting hit to run through him because he's got so much health so he's got a one hit tax minimum. Leaving 3 hits to get eaten up by Drac teleporting onto me or screwing up fireball whip timing.

Just irritated that I picked up the game today and effortlessly ran through the entire game without continuing and then lost to drac like 15 times before killing him. Because redoing that refuel part is so boring.

Man it's been a while but I think I just stand in the center, react to where he is by running away, and then with the right distance you can jump towards him and over all three fire balls and get a hit in. You could also try to whip the fireballs but I find it riskier than jumping over them. Actually I might be moving instead of standing still before he teleports.

And the second one the only real trick is finding the timing to run under him before you're cornered I think. I beat the game without using a continue before and I find Death to be much harder to get consistent at because of the complexity of the scythes.

Death if I'm having a flawless run as I was today he's super easy to cheese with triple holy water. You can spawn camp him and just firebomb the platform he comes down on. He doesn't even summon scythes it's sad.

If I can't do that he's a bit more tricky but usually damage racing him is fairly viable if I've got the cross or axe.

My problem with Drac is he's just so beefy. Maybe I should try to jump the balls more often though. I'll have to try that next time.

The cross is good, but they give you the holy water during the boss fight for a reason. If you're getting 40-50 hearts anyway, you can actually stun lock his second form with holy water. So really for first form just deal with the fireballs, hit him in the head, and try not to die.

Well I'd rather not get 40-50 hearts. Thats why it's frustrating more than Dracula kicking my butt. The game is so fun aside from that grind.

Maybe man up and just whip his head to death + stunlock the second form is the way

I got motivated and played through again because the game is short.

Tried the lazy holy water no stockpiling hearts method three times

I couldn't really get it to stunlock his second form. But I did realize that if I play more calmly and don't focus so hard on throwing 3 crosses at his head jumping his fireballs is easy if I just wait a second after he launches them to jump. So it was good practice playing through his first form without the crosses a few times.

Decided to use this better dodging and stock up some triple cross hearts and beat him in one try only taking two hits. (Three crosses do kill the second form fairly quickly)

So 4 tries much better than 15. Maybe next time I'll chain the best of the two runs together and beat the game without continuing.
