The songs in match 2 are kind of... similar, in my opinion. And great, now I can feel bad about voting against Kirby Air Ride a second time.

To the Heart is definitely worse than Stay Forever. It's alright tho. Tyrian Maze does nothing for me.

Jungle Joyride rules. Fun mix of chill and epic. I don't care for Ephemeral Glory B at all. Not a fan of the 'weirdness' or whatever, though I did play Dragon's Crown recently, and I like how it reminds me of that... Two extremely different songs in this match.

When it respects to Match 1, it can be for anyone really; I'm going PMD because i find it more interesting though. Also GODDDDDDDDDD Jungle Joyride is so good!!! One of the best finds of the contest. Also also, Abstract is slightly cooler tonight. Nice day all around!

Maze is a solid piece of background music, Heart is fine on paper but doesn't grab me for some reason.
Wow match 2's tracks are going for the same vibe huh. Jungle is another one that I appreciate more than I actually like, it's an interesting journey but I forget about it as soon as it stops playing. I like it enough to win here though, Ephemeral starts with potential but doesn't do anything with it.
I like :50-1:20 in City Trial but beyond that it's only ok, I've no idea why I apparently picked it in my favs bracket, Abstract is the best track on offer today!

Tyrian Maze is pretty interesting. Particularly when the beat comes in. A lot of interesting instruments and synths used here. I like the general soundscape of this, although the fake strings and such are kind of off-putting for me (but I guess that's par for the course for PMD). Solid track as a whole.

I like To the Heart a lot better than Stay Forever (~~I'm an avid Stay Forever hater lol~~). Great bassline in this and I like the vocal performance better here. Also, the e-guitar solo is way better than the sax solo in Stay Forever. Melodies are about equally good though, which is pretty good, but not great. But yeah, To the Heart is great.

Jungle Joyride is actually pretty cool. Particularly the cello and piano. Just a cool soundscape in general. Melody could be better, though.

The best part of Ephemeral Glory B are the opening chords. Really nice sounds there. The rest is kind of just there and doesn't do a ton. Very weak melody in particular. Ok song, but could be a lot better.

Abstract Map is still slightly better than City. Both are still good though.

the other day when I voted I literally said to myself "City Trial vs. Abstract Map is maybe the least close match that's still close enough for me to want to abstain on" and it's feeling even less close today. Both good songs but I think I gotta go with City Trial

I'd listened to Ephemeral Glory B before this year, but during nominations this hit me much harder than it did before. It feels really big-- the opening chords immediately give you that impression, like you're gazing at an immense being of unknowable beauty and majesty. This feeling persists throughout the track; it's ancient, alien, a little terrifying. I smiled a bit at the genre description of SPARSE here-- this feels thick and lush, from the beautiful percussion layers to the myriad plucked strings and wind instruments. Taken as a whole, it's one of the most stunning compositions in the contest for me.

other notes:
-Tyrian Maze is one of the nicest 'cave/dungeon' tracks I've heard-- I love how the close placement of the instruments and their reverb and echo define the space they're in. it's another case where all of the smaller elements of the track combine to make something that sounds really cool; I love the string chords themselves and the way they swell

I suspect I might wind up being the only member of the alleged prog cluster to fall on this side of match 2. Ephemeral Glory B is incredible, but Jungle Joyride (Night) does things I adore from literally the first second, and has seduced me completely.
