While it may not be accurate to say Republicans are "united" in their goals, there is an underlying ideology that binds most Republicans to their party, with the absolute worst examples of Republicans simply being extremist versions of this ideology.

Democrats are a vague coalition of people that just agree on a base level that the GOP is not good. Their party includes former "RINOs" that think the party has gone too far, corporate Democrats, progressives, and a bunch of other ideologies that are fundamentally opposed to one another. It's a party with no clear focus and thus nothing to offer other than being a safe place to dump your vote if you don't support literal fascism. It's why you have obstructionist Democrats like Manchin and Sinema fucking up any meaningful reform.

This is why I just indefinitely abstain, there is literally no party that represents my wants or needs, and there never will be at this point.

As evident by what happened to abortion rights recently, my allying with Democrats would have accomplished jack shit. And with only two parties, there's no other way to vote against Republicans.

if it resulted in republicans failing to appoint enough supreme court justices, it would have accomplished something.

remember- clarence thomas and alito are very old and fat. they could drop dead tomorrow. the second there are five liberal justices in SCOTUS every single ruling by this court will be challenged by grassroots groups.

To be fair, those judges were appointed by Presidents that lost the popular vote.

If that guy is a blue voter in a red state, then his vote literally means nothing in this instance.

The system is beyond repair, and I'm beyond trusting democracy for fixes. There's only one solution left, but saying it outloud gets you harshly moderated, so I just have to accept things for what they are and watch as it keeps getting worse in this third-world shithole country trying to pretend it's a first-world wet fart.

That is why Republicans always seem to win. They have united strength. We either need to unite, or there needs to be other Major Parties as powerful as Republicans and Democrats to take the pressure off in this war

Thing I never got with Dems is why is their leadership so old. Pelosi, Schumer, Sanders, and Biden are so old. Why arent they promoting the newest crop. Like making AOC the speaker of the House.

They prefer Republicans to progressives. That isn't an exaggeration. AOC is an outlier for the party and does not enjoy their unconditional support.

Yeah, it was a number of states with very small margins. It was such a close election that anything that's been suggested as "what made the difference" really is. Change any little thing that went wrong in 2016 and the result is different.

They are the status quo party. Republicans are the party of cruelty and moving backwards. That's where American politics is right now. In other democratic countries our left is basically equal to what their right is, and our right is that super ultra alt-right conspiracy theory deep state party that has like 4 members that are always making headlines for saying some racist shit. That's why the best you can hope for in American politics is like right now, where the Democrats have the trifecta, and they don't do anything with it. Congress, the Senate, and the White House. Yet there always seems to be a reason why they just can't seem to get it together.

That's why it's so enraging when they try to spin Roe v. Wade as a way to scare people into voting for them in the fall. You. Literally. Already. Have. The. Trifecta. Do something now. I really don't think enough people understand this (though I think you underestimate how popular the far-right is in many countries). The analogue for the Republicans is not the Tories (evil as they are), it's AfD, Vox, Lega Nord, the Front National, etc.
