I've never played any FF game, though I have a 3DS with the first 6 of them.

Yaknow... for a game where you mostly move down straight lines it's weirdly hard to walk in a straight line cuz of the camera being so weird.

But it is nice that they copied the 'instant retry' if you lose mechanic from... Final Fantasy Mystic Quest

5 star all the missions, mainly. I only have missions 63 and 65 left (I literally just beat Vercadortix just now)

The only achievements I'm missing are:

Gyshal Wreath - Easy, but will do it tomorrow, I'm tired
Adamant Will - Hard, beat Long Gui... and he's veerrrrry Long
Master's Seal - Medium, just max everyone... I probably shoulda did this before summoning Long Gui
Treasure Hunter - ???, I've been hording, but I didn't keep a checklist so IDK where I'm at
Superstar - Easy now, just gotta go and do it

If you are okay with more story than action they can be pretty good.

I say FF1 has the most action... it's pretty much 99% action

I recently watched a critical video of it that made me want to play it.

I never played FF1. I been waiting to play through them all but never got around to doing it. Only played a couple.

I wish they would make a movie version of FF13.
I never finished the game, but from what I played the story seemed good, albeit convoluted but man the gameplay was awful.
Devs were apparently inspired by Call of Duty and that's why the game is a hallway simulator. Just awful

weirdly a movie format wouldn't be good for FF13 because of how flash-backy the vignettes are... would make an ok single season series tho

I actually liked FF13... It did feel pretty linear earlier... And while it does open up later, it felt very late into the game... That said, I still very much enjoyed it...

I always played through about 1/4 of it on NES (at least a few times) but finally beat it via the Pixel Remaster. Really fun.

I like a good story, but I think my attention span has worsened as I've gotten access to a larger backlog of games to play. I'll usually spend an hour scrolling through to figure out a game to play. Then I'll choose one, make it through 10 minutes of it and decide to do something else.

They really wanted you to stare at the pretty corridors, so the camera kinda drifts around to facilitate that, I guess.

Maybe it was supposed to compensate for the lead character KOing = instant game over? Man, XIII is a mess. It's just not very fun.

That aside, there is some stuff great in FF13. The battle fonts are really good, it has the best Cactuars (so lively)

...also, I can't tell if Vanille has giant boobs; mostly cuz she has a very small frame

It was better than people say it was but the side content is just awful.

Its such a bad game though. I can understand "I liked it back when I was a teenager" or "Its an alright podcast game" but people that say its their favorite Final Fantasy (or game...*shudder*) are damaged and have objectively bad taste.

Honeslty... it's not... 'terrible' or anything. I do like the battle system, the voice acting is decent (even though they were not given much compelling to say) and the few story highlights that are even good enough to be considered a highlight are really good.

It's jsut that everything else is kinda meh

The Treasure Hunter achievement is incredibly annoying. it takes about 65 hours to 100% the game other than Treasure Hunter... and an additional 15 hours to get Treasure Hunter cuz of all the pointless extra grind combined with how cumbersome mass-upgrading is (casual upgrading is oddly satisfying and intuitive, but trying to do it precisely to get 100% is TEEEEEEEEEEdious)

Also... Vanille has really big feet. And you know what they say about women with big feet
