I thought the mermaid was pretty cool last time but this time she basically spent the most of the game (so far) sitting in a shop, being sad, and being traumatized. Gen is also super unhelpful. Like you sense someone is hiding something, and the next moment he's on the Psync machine, yet most of the time th Psyncs don't reveal anything important or shocking at all. I felt the story didn't flow very well because of that. Finally not a big fan of the big twist. This didn't really make sense for a lot of things but also made other things fit better than if it really was two different timelines so I never really gave up on it. Especially when I got to M1 Ch4 which was clearly taking place concurrent with past events even though it was supposed to be in the present and the player character was Quartz. But, I wasn't thinking big enough and never quite workout the true nature of the timeline shenanigans. I sort of regret not trying harder since I had at least a foothold on what was going on. Overall, I liked the game a lot. I did like the changes to the Somnium where it felt like I was working things out. Unlimited Psync is also a feature I wish was in the original game and I was happy to see it was in this one. Storywise, I do feel like it was a bit weaker than the first game. But playable Mizuki lived up to my expectations even if if it for less than half the game. --- My bracket looked like random picks compared to his. I love what they did with the returning cast and every new cast member is awesome. The plot isn't as good as AI1 but it was still great, but I think the character writing more than makes up for it.
