Honorable Mention: Aria https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/7/1/2/AAOJ0pAADY-I.png Aria is an android designed to look just like Lana Lang. Pretty much the main thing she wants is to engage in sexual relations with Lex Luthor. This implies she was designed to be a sexbot. Aria's way of speaking is to say a sexual innuendo, then give a stilted "ha ha ha". This is especially hilarious when she interacts with Data 7, who doesn't understand any of the innuendo. Because he is a dog. "Watch where you aim your tail - I might like it ha ha ha" --- "Bordate is a pretty shady place, what with the gangs, casinos, evil corporations and water park." - FAHtastic ... 33. Kid Eternity https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/1/7/1/AAOJ0pAADZFT.jpg The Kid was in Hell for awhile, so if he's actually like 50 or something, I apologize. The Kid I think is the most recently introduced character on this list. We found him at a bar called Time in a Bottle north of London, where he was made to be captive by the returned form of Thomas Edison. Edison was using Kid Eternity to summon hordes of people from the past, causing loads of mayhem. See, Kid Eternity has the power to summon a person of choice from the past who has died, for one minute. However, his powers went on the fritz, and now it's just a random choice. And longer than one minute! So far, we've had John Adams, a cat named Grimalkin, Juliet Capulet, Dove, and more! These are some exciting little encounters to have with characters we would have no such interaction with otherwise. But this ranking is about The Kid! And The Kid is a lot of fun. He's a cool looking guy, but what's really cool is his narration - see, whenever he is around, The Kid gets self-narration. Somebody might ask him what is going on, and then a spiel is given of his thoughts on the situation, that is really dramatic, sort of like a noir film... then he'll respond with a non-committal simple thing. The Kid meanders down the hall like a cat searching for prey, casually sizing up every angle, every avenue for an attack. Because that's who I am, the Kid thinks to himself, and a boy's gotta strike where it hurts, if he's gotta strike. Make every single hit cou- Dead in his tracks, the Kid pauses. Here was a woman who knew how to fill out a leather jacket. And he'd seen a few of them. The Kid let his smile tell his business, you see. He wasn't one to shy away from a good looking woman. "You looking for me or a little history?" the Kid offered up. That's it, Kit, the Kid thought to himself. That's how you lay down a line. He's just a really fun addition. Even NPC's like Traci think he's SO COOL. Gotta rp with him a little more to get to know him, but that time will come. 32. Mister Terrific (Michael Holt) https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/6/3/5/AAOJ0pAADZMj.jpg Mister Terrific is either the third or fourth smartest man on Earth, depending on who you ask. We ran into him right away after week 1 - at Z'onn Z'orr, when we first arrived, there were very few superheroes present. There was Fire, Negative Woman, Snapper, and Mister Terrific. Terrific runs the Scramble Lab. Since the beginning, he's been our lab guy, though some of us have dabbled in labs as well (Saoirse is a biologist, and Pepper Spray, Vis's character, is a chemist). Terrific made a brief appearance in campaign 1, but has been here the whole time this one. He was the chairman of the JSA beforehand, and somehow managed to end up at Z'onn Z'orr. Terrific deals with the guilt of being a hero in a way slightly different from others - he keeps busy. He works. He never stops. By constantly building things, he keeps busy and keeps helping. And honestly, he's been pleasant. He's gotten the most conversation out of the two already mentioned PC's (Saoirse and Pepper). Pepper's relation with him is particularly good because Pepper is clawing her way through grey mortality to a dark side, and Terrific is the best scientific hero to appeal to her goodness. Pepper also is classically religious, Terrific not being, so there's a pair of scientists that like to discuss philosophy and theology at times. Saoirse likes Terrific because he reminds her of her ex-husband a bit. She's a little more on the flirty side with him, but enjoys talking with a man who has a high level of intelligence, though she doesn't quite live in the same world. Anyway, Terrific has been more subtle of a character with his development, but he's a well-rounded man who has a surprising amount of depth and is always good for a conversation. Hint for 31: Probably the character on this list who has been portrayed by the greatest number of actors. --- "Bordate is a pretty shady place, what with the gangs, casinos, evil corporations and water park." - FAHtastic ... 31. Oberon Sexton https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/9/4/2/AAOJ0pAADZRW.jpg In like, week 8, we took our first trip back to Gotham (after week 1). There, the party encountered a man named Oberon Sexton. This man was an enigma, but he was compelling, and seemed to promise weapons and support to the party in exchange for helping to cause a little chaos. In multiple trips to Gotham after that, he would pop up, including a visit to Renee Montoya's apartment to suggest that she absconded with the Question some time ago. Throughout these trips, it was becoming apparent that Sexton was to have a heavy hand in our fighting against Simon Hurt, the Court of Owls, and the OMAC's. He had a pretty sophisticated way of speaking, a seeming hate for Simon Hurt, and resources. So fast-forward to a gala where the King of Spades is attending. The Terrible Trio had hired the party to do a heist here, but Sexton also wanted some chaos caused. The plan was to get Sexton on stage. Onstage he was put. And when the lights went out and back on, he struck at the king, revealing that this was no Oberon Sexton, but rather a prince - a clown prince of crime. The Joker https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/9/4/3/AAOJ0pAADZRX.jpg See, the Joker had a message for Simon Hurt - he refused to ally with Hurt, the ambassador of everything that Batman doesn't stand for. That was Joker's job. And he had grown tired of all the attempts to recruit him. So now Joker was set to get his payback. Aside from this reveal being masterfully delivered, it is also delicious because we have difficulty with this - see, it's the Joker. He killed Sarah Essen-Gordon, one of a number of party member's favorite NPC's from campaign 1. He paralyzed Barbara. She can't even operate when his name comes up. I mean, working with Batman (Harvey Dent) is one thing, but the Joker? That is a difficult pill to swallow. And yet, it's a very potent pill. Oh, also, we have Harley Quinn back at Z'onn Z'orr, and puddin' broke her heart, so that's another person we're keeping this secret from. We haven't had much chance to go back and explore this yet, as we quickly got to the Vegas/Tokyo split which would take up two months and everything since but I am SO hyped to return to Gotham and see how we plan to interact with the Joker more. He was a powerful force in Campaign 1 - almost never showing up, but always having his flavor around the city... and here I'am in campaign 2, and the Joker has decided that we are to be his allies. Spooky. Fits a theme though - a lot of Batman's rogues gallery are as likely to side against Hurt as with. Penguin, Man-Bat, Two-Face... makes sense that the Joker would be among that number. Only thing remaining is to see how things go forward. 30. Sir Paul McCartney https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/5/6/8/AAOJ0pAADZqw.png Yes, Paul McCartney is in our campaign. Why is he in our campaign? I'm still not completely sure. See, we have this item called a Radio Tuner - usually, using it in battle changes the battle music to a randomly shuffled song that has a special effect (that usually hurts us) in the battle. Sometimes, for specific battles, it has a specific song and effect no matter what. Now, Gotham in this campaign? It's stuck in Christmas. In campaign, it's in January (and time is stuck there), but in Gotham, Simon Hurt wants it to be Christmas. So the very first Radio Tuner usage was destined to be Simply Having a Wonderful Christmastime. The effect? Paul McCartney shows up and performs it. Apparently he knows Trish (we'll get to Trish). Anyway, after the battle, Paul stuck around... because... he could. The party was planning and he was like "Well, what if famous musician Paul McCartney tagged along". So we recruited Paul McCartney. Paul does that thing where he acts humble but is actually being a braggart the whole time. He loves to quote song names in his dialogue. He is pretty hilarious, but is also just generally a good guy. He doesn't go out in the field really (yet?), but he is a musician playing at our stage in base. So let's take a moment to talk about Saoirse again - she's a punk rock Swiss-Irish witch. While she lived in London for about a year, she became the frontwoman for a band called the Bad Bitches. The band didn't turn out so well, and her musical career kinda pittered out, but fast-forward to Z'onn Z'orr where she planned on playing a gig for awhile. For the encore for her gig, Paul came out (showstealer) and played along with Jim Rook, Nightmaster, and it was a good time for everyone. Anyway, the shear hilarity of having Paul McCartney in our base in this campaign is enough to propel him forward, and a slew of good interactions, including helping Spirit break into Enchantress's room to save Christmas, earned him a spot on this ranking. 29. Thom Kallor https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/0/5/0/AAOJ0pAADZyS.jpg Ah, Opal City. Black Condor, Black Pirate, the Shade, Bobo Benetti, and of course, Starman. Or uh, Star... boy? All of the Starmen we could have run into, and this would not have been the expected one. Thom is from the future. He is a Starman (Starboy?) of the Legion of Superheroes from the future, and somehow ended up in the past, where things are not abundantly clear for him. We found him in the midst of torture and offered our assistance, though he had enough trouble understanding what was going on without us taking him outside where it was all dark and shadowy. Now, Thom is a few sides of a coin. On one, he is a hero from the future - flies, has light blasts, holds his own in a few battles throughout the campaign. He's certainly got capabilities that are a boon to have around. As far as our early campaign pick-ups went, he was a good one to grab! On another side is his seeming ineptitude. It's hard to say that Thom is stupid, but rather, some times, he just doesn't seem to get things. Whether or not he gets them or is just willfully interpreting things differently is a bit of a gray area. Perhaps it's just perspective. But Thom certainly has a way about misinterpreting basic instructions, misbehaving, and being a slob. I mean, by God, this man loves his sloppy joes and he will always be so sloppy with them. He just usually carries one around, and he just gets it all over his costume's gloves... such a mess. On another side is his interfacing with the fourth wall - see, Thom is the kind of character to reference group memes. If someone misspells something or misspeaks, Thom will pick up on it. Thom might make references to other characters, or sometimes just a completely unrelated thing from comics. Either way, it's fun to determine if it's something our characters have a reason to respond to or just chalk it up to Thom being a bit of a weirdo. Either way, despite being a pest sometimes and making some conversations a bit more difficult to get through, Thom's unique brand of not-with-it-ness is always good for a chuckle. There's a lot of glee one can pull from one so quirky and disconnected. But there's also a sweetheart underneath that all who does want to help out, he'll just respond to you in a way that rustles you up if you try to reach him on a more emotional level. Thom was put in a cell when we first brought him back due to his uncertain nature, and it fell on Saoirse to escort him out, introducing him to people, showing him around, and getting him acclimated (Sloppy Joes). Eventually, he was given a room and was welcomed to debriefings. Even further on, he was declared fit for field readiness... though it's been hard to find the right team to put him out. Maybe now that we have Jack Knight with us, we might have someone who can rein the guy in. Because, let me tell you, when we brought him to Tokyo, we could not rein him in. He was useful on the boat ride there, then had some mishaps getting into trouble and bouncing around. We had a fight for social media dominance where he ended up against us, and then usurped the whole thing with a burrito. The kind of nonsense that could only come from Thom. We have a lot of Toms in the campaign. This is Thom with an H, and the H stands for "fuckin' Hell". Gotta love the guy. 28. La Dama https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/4/7/7/AAOJ0pAADZ49.png La Dama is a criminal kingpin based out of El Paso. She is from Juarez. During the course of her criminaling, she got into a rivalry with a woman named Maria and they killed each other's daughters, then Maria became a spirit of vengeance of water named La Llorona, and she took up in Juarez, so there was a big conflict between the two. El Paso/Juarez was a location for some 5 sessions, and we did our damnedest to end up with the pair agreeing to a ceasefire to take their combined cities down south in a convoy to get to the southern tip of South America so they could ferry across to Antarctica. The Convoy was another 6/7 sessions or so, so La Dama got a lot of screentime. So who is La Dama? She's a criminal. She used to be a mother. She's practical. La Dama is smart, and always playing an angle. In El Paso, she was clearly the top dog, riding around in a limo with Charaxes (the transformed Killer Moth) riding atop as her guard dog. All meetings took place according to her decisions, and she wanted to hire the party to get rid of waves of azure beetles that were tearing the city up. Eventually, she got ousted as the Society decided they didn't care for this unaligned criminal empire, and she quickly became a target. We got her to side with us - on the promise that she would be the president of Mexico in a new world order - and in the Convoy she continued to vie for the top spot. She didn't have a tough time with it - she was organized, and La Llorona wasn't a businesswoman - just a spirit of vengeance. Then everything changed when we stopped by Santa Prisca to pick up Bane. Suddenly, La Dama was at a big disadvantage. She continued to play her cards as best she could, but from the position of not being the top dog, it became less of a puppetmaster situation, and more of a calculated player of chess. The moves became riskier, sometimes more desperate, but more meaningful. The last thing she did on the convoy, after acquiring a magic acorn from PC's that would imprison La Llorona... was to imprison La Llorona. And save her. This act of mercy was a victory for her, as La Llorona arrived with her to Z'onn Z'orr with the convoy and no longer had a purpose. La Dama had won. Until Kobra attacked and La Llorona became a protector of our under-ice city, Castling. Suddenly, La Llorona was a folk hero and had power over La Dama again. The power had shifted... as it had back and forth for awhile. La Dama is a complex character. She's a criminal, and she's pretty bad, but when La Llorona was killed the first time, La Dama didn't kill all of her children in vengeance - one survivor was set up with a new family. There is some amount of heart to La Dama, or at least, the echo of one. She's always playing the game and trying to find ways to get ahead. And in this world, that might be more important to have on our side than not. It also makes her someone who we need to be cautious with, as any interaction with her could be negative in result. Pepper Spray (Vis's character) is a pharmacist and has gotten involved with cooking drugs for the Society, so she's starting to work with La Dama to set up production. Pepper Spray is interesting when she dips more into her villainous persona, as it is very clearly where she is trending, and it results in her more innocent Mormon girl side being eaten up, and La Dama is helping to push that along, so this interaction is one worth watching as it continues. Also, Brennus technically made a promise to La Llorona that he would help her try to kill La Dama when the time comes, so... La Dama has been a joy to play as the campaign has progressed. Watching her slowly win over the begrudging party was awesome. I'll guess Misty. --- "It is too easy being monsters. Let us try to be human." ~Victor Frankenstein, Penny Dreadful ... Copied to Clipboard!

27. Charity O'Dare https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/4/8/6/AAOJ0pAADaIu.jpg Charity O'Dare is a fortune teller. She is married to Mason O'Dare, one of the O'Dare family. We first met an O'Dare in the Heartlands, the sort-of afterlife for Native Americans, where we met the dead Matt O'Dare. He asked to go to Opal City and check on his living family. And we did! After dropping by a couple of places, we ended up going to Fortunes and Forbidden Tales, a shop run by Charity, where she was hanging out with her husband Mason. Now, Mason is a man of few words - he does not say much more than one word at a time, but he's a good man. Charity however, is one hell of a woman. She's got an air of mystery, but at the same time is incredibly genuine. She'll do a tarot reading with you, but will also talk to you as a friend. Charity is one of those characters who hasn't gotten much interest from players aside from myself. Saoirse totally had a crush on both her and Mason, but she put away those thoughts after an awkward start when she realized that she just liked Charity and wanted to be friends with her. The pair often talk over tarot and sometimes wine, and when they do, Charity has had occasion to chip away at Saoirse's facade. Even at a point when Saoirse broke down, Charity was able to swoop in and offer something Saoirse never had in spades - a good friend to talk to. Now, Charity occupies her corner and that's okay. Anytime the PC's want a reading, she's around. And whenever Saoirse wants a good friend to talk to with no strings attached, she's around as well. Only question is if we're going to give her the crystal ball that is full of genuine magical power. This is a magic item we found, but seems a little risky to hand over... still, it'd be fun. Gotta consider that... Hint for 26: Has been significantly injured during this campaign. --- "Bordate is a pretty shady place, what with the gangs, casinos, evil corporations and water park." - FAHtastic ...
