I live close to him but unfortunately we just have too different interests and world views to be actually 'close' as in hang out, talk about life and hobbies in a meaningful way. He's very much a 'sports and news and real life' kind of guy that can't stay awake watching movies, has no interest in games, tech, or reading, doesn't really watch anything on TV but some reality TV, etc. Basically all the things I'm not into and vice versa, not to mention differing religious and political views.
