I believe its;

Knuckles theme in Sonic 3 (granted he already has his own from the &Knuckles half)
Carnival Night Zone
Ice Cap Zone
Launch Base Zone
I think the Credits Theme
maybe like two more songs

They have the original songs for the 3 zones before MJ and his drummer(?) came in to compose.

Jun Senoue will complete them using the Genesis soundchip and the like.

Hopefully it gives you the option to play as knuckles in sonic 2 like back in the day

No, because I have the original carts (for the Genesis games) and the Sega Collection.

I already own them all in their original format, so I don't see the reason to buy the collection. If there is a good sale on it down the road, I may re-evaluate.

You can. You can also play as knuckles in Sonic 1.

I guess Im pArT oF tHe PrObLeM but I honestly dont mind buying older games on more modern systems. Theyll certainly look better / cleaner than on Genesis or GameCube / Wii (and god knows I aint playing these on my phone), and its not like theyre JUST straight ports either. The loss of some of the Sonic 3 music tracks is a bummer for sure but its not the end of the world.

Not paying full price, but Ill be getting the collection at some point.

I will one day.

During the mascot platform days of gaming, I always favored Mario over Sonic so I probably won't get this but it looks like it's going to be classic Sonic.

I have Sonic Generations that I got free from PS Plus and I have Sonic Tag Team Racing so that's enough Sonic for me.

Probably not. Many collections are out already that contain these games and more.

I have a lot of nostalgia for Sonic Mega Collection, and Gems Collection. Sonic Jams was pretty cool too. These compilations had super memorable presentation and were just packed with a ton of cool extra shit.

That seems to be what they're trying to do with Origins, so I'm down for that.

I played the hell out of sonic as a kid. But nowadays, its not my kind of game.

Yeah I'll get it. The first games are perfect simple fun for me.

I've never played a sonic game in my life.

I'll probably get it because my kiddos love the sonic movies.

Yeah, people on the Sonic forums are doomposting like crazy. Its bad enough that they used the disliked prototype music, but they remixed the disliked prototype music to be even worse. Like almost every track besides the ICZ sounds muffled, like it is coming from a genesis sound fronts asshole. The CNZ 2 mix sounds discordant & the LBZ 2 theme has volume levels that are all over the place. It is amateur hour on the remixed ost.

Then it is a bunch of questionable design designs about game itself. Like why isn't there a toggle switch for lives in anniversary mode or unlimited lives in classic mode. Why can't I level select from the save menu ala Sonic Mania, but have to do the cheat code? Plus looking at the cut scenes in the game, there is a lot of scenes with Amy, yet no fricken playable Amy. Why do they have to torment us like that, although the later is more of nitpick I suppose. I mean if they can't even do a live toggle, they certainly aren't going to add a new character.

The new zone themes are trash *sigh*

This is a bit strange. They don't have to have the same melody, but can we get some of the same energy at least?
