Unskippable tutorials. At the very least have some kinda system that can detect if you've done the tutorial on a previous playthrough and allow you to skip it on subsequent play throughd

Megaman Battle network did this too. I wish it had an option.

Like, "Lan, you know you saved the world (1-5 times) but here, let me teach you how to bust viruses!"

It's especially annoying for tutorials on menus. Like they move the cursor so slowly to the option it's gonna click on.

They shouldn't be. But it is a pet peeve.

Babysitting. Its what ruined Hyrule Warriors for me.

Cool, time to explore and go do some other objectives- - oh wait someone on the complete other side of the map cant defend themselves or fight so I have to drop this time-sensitive thing Im doing and run back over there.

Being able to switch between characters helps with that Though, in the new Fire Emblem, they seem to be able to handle themselves in most cases when you send someone somewhere Though, Im not sure Im a big fan of that

i actually really like this when you have the tools to do everything within the alloted time. majoras mask gives you the songs required to revert to day one for example, and Pikmin 1 gives you plenty of time to get all the ship parts, for me it gives an extra sense of accomplishment.

what i dont like is when you absolutely cant do everything on the first playthrough (eg persona, as good as those games otherwise are). i always just end up getting overwhelmed and stressed out about how to minmax my time.

You know you have infinite tries in Majoras Mask, right? People love complaining about the time limit but like its literally a non-issue.

Except maybe getting the fairies in the dungeons. That can be annoying having to essentially do the entire thing over just to get them, but even then. Infinite tries.

#1 is the amount of time it takes to get into a "modern" game.

There are usually about 10 splash screens = 2 minutes or so of clicking 'a' or 'start'.
Then, every single game seems to have a 1-3 hour tutorial before you can even start playing.

Because of this, I'm usually checked out about 10 minutes into the tutorial, the game gets put away, and I never touch it again. In a few exceptional cases, a game may suck me in.

Conversely, I can fire up Super Mario Bros 2 and be playing on the first level in about 15 seconds.

I feel like being able to suspend/rest a game on most modern consoles helps to alleviate this issue a little

Tales of Vesperia has a ton of missables. And it's easy to miss them the 2nd time around too. And the game is kinda long. You really gotta follow a guide unless you just don't give a shit. You could easily end up playing 300hrs to get the platinum.

I followed it and got to the first main ending boss and just fucking gave up. I love the game, but I don't wanna play it too much and I can see 3 times already. Some shit I just let go. Like Star Ocean 4. Holy shit. It's just not worth it.

I usually dont like timed games, but Majoras Mask was different My favorite Zelda game, tbh The time was mostly a non-issue Like earlier said, you have songs that can slow down time, go back to the first day, and skip a day when needed

I'd prefer a super radical gnarly secret rainbow zone just outside the soft boundary where it started playing Rainbow Road music and takes me into a landed of endless adventure! Fuck yeah!
