Aside from MTX and the like.

Mine has to be loot based games that don't have the storage capacity for being a loot based game.

Like diablo2 and borderlands are great examples. Don't make dozens and dozens of guns IN MULTIPLE ELEMENTS if I don't have the storage space for them all.

That Miyamoto said freaking 7 years ago that Pikmin 4 was coming soon, and since then the only word on it is he didnt mean the 3DS game

Controller vibration. I find it distracting and annoying, with no benefits, so I always turn it off.

Any kind of forced multiplayer

Hmmm... Idk... I guess it depends on the game. Like I like choices, but too many can be overwhelming like with Persona building in Persona Q... And certain missable things bother me, too... For example, in Tokyo Mirage Session #FE, there's a missable duo art move... The problem is to not miss it, you have to have answered certain question correctly. But the game never even tells you that you're answering the questions for something, nor does it give an indication that you have answered correctly or not... It's really weird...

Also, didn't we have a discussion about your pet peeve like a couple weeks ago or something...

Youtube gaming content creators trigger the hell out of me. I only follow a few of them and it's mostly non-news related stuff.

Making a triple A game, but having the financiers shut off development during the polishing stage because they aren't willing to spend another 5 million for polish. Thus, we all get eurojank instead of a great game because Bernard Higgins III of Poopoo Peepee Investors felt a little risk averse that day in the meeting and changed the game for everyone.

i mean more like in MMOs where you can do a lot of stuff on your own but then to do cool dungeons or get good upgrades you are forced to find other people to group with

Oh. I see... I don't think I'm a fan of those, either... They can be fun with friends, but I don't want to have to have friends just to play the cool stuff, or get the good loot...

I've been playing SRW30 recently and it's really wild that the game has as much DLC as it does. And it feels pretty clear that most of it is just cutting content from the main game. There's two $15 DLCs that have like ten mechs each (some of which is series first appearance), another $25 DLC with like fifteen mechs and the true ending, and a $5 bonus mission pack with stuff like swimsuit or crossdressing episodes. The only one that doesn't irk me is the $30 premium sound and data DLC, which has a ton of the original voiced music tracks (and stuff like HEATS or the original 90's gridman theme which aren't in the game at all), because getting that much official original music probably cost them an arm and a leg anyways. You can get around that anyways with the custom bgm option without buying it anyways.

Lol I remember in dragon age everyone lost their mind because that npc in your camp was just like yo I got a quest for you but it costs $10 motherfucker

Mandatory tutorial levels.
Tutorials that drip-feed game mechanics.

Show me a list of inputs, if you show anything at all, then let me play the game and figure it out for myself.

Dlc that the game advertises in the game. Not like in a menu but in the actual game. Borderlands 3 did this and Guacamelee did as well.

Trivial multi-player trophies and multi-player trophies in general that block you from getting the platinum years later because multi-player shut down.

I dont mind most tutorial levels But there are some that are too slow But I personally like a little more than just a list of inputs Haha.

I wish there was a "bruh, I have played Pokmon 2,000 times, let me skip this tutorial shit" option

I definitely wish more games had quicker intros.

DLC, but if we're not counting that...

1) Mandatory minigames not in keeping with the mechanics of the game itself. Whether it's a fishing quest or a fucking Goron dance.

2) Unskippable tutorials, including tutorial missions -- they suck on a first play at times and are annoying on replays.

3) Protect missions.

Multiplayer achievements in a predominantly single player game (like Bulletstorm, some Assassin's Creed games, etc)

dialogue trees in most games. if done right, like in some rpgs such as disco elysium, it can be an immersive way of interacting with npcs based on your playstyle or character build. however the vast majority of games use them as boring exposition dumps with the player required to click occasionally.

That reminded me of the old school halo lobbies(not sure if it's present on the newer games since I haven't played their MP). But if you went in as a party of 3 it would search for a party of three and once found that it would pick up the singles. Took forever finding a game as a party of 3

The hilarious part is, the same low ranking members keep going to the hanger to try and change their layout for minutes after a match only to lose lose lose again.

I'm keeping the F22A with QAAM each time, no change and still winning.

Playing D2 on Switch right now and this is seriously a major flaw with this game.
Enemies will drop like 12 items but I can only grab like 8 of them without needing to go back to town and sell stuff and then come back and waste another town portal scroll to go back to town.

Yeah lots of them have that. But you eventually tire of doing it and don't go overboard on resource collection. If they had a scrap system and allowed you to accrue scrap at that advanced of a rate, a junk system would have to be introduced to offset it somehow. Which imo would be better because people love collecting all the shit. Even if they had to junk some of it before they leave the dungeon.

However, there are those who can't be bothered for a secondary or tertiary loot system built for crafting or resource farm mechanics so for them you'd also need to automate the system for a quick clean and still give them the benefit of the broken down loot minus any drawn out harvesting or processing of it that people like me would engage it.

Some people just wanna smash and run. They don't care about all the other shit. And to be fair, most of the time the loot isn't worth stopping and breaking down. That's where the devs need to come in and let players like me who like to processes it create value for the market or other parts of the game.

PoE fixed this with the MTX collection or legendary tab. Forgot what it's called but it is a stash tab that has a spot for every unique/legendary in the game. Only purchase I made in that game and I love it

its a well known game but i love the way torchlight ii handles it, by giving you a little pet who can haul the loot back to town and sell it for you while you remain in the dungeon.

Yeah I forgot about that. I never played 3. Just wasn't up for it. I platinum'd it when it came out later for playstation. Felt forever since it was release on PC when that was.
