Time to PLAY

A little sad the story scenes arent voiced, but its a fun game. I got through 3 levels of Story mode before I had to stop to do non-gaming stuff. There are trophies for multiplayer and single player stuff. Its also cool how you level up and learn new moves and whatnot. Ill probably play through it as every single character.

Played about an hourish with randos. Lots and lots of fun.

Taunting is OP.

I'm just wondering if this is the game taking liberties for sake of a fun character or this is actually what April is now.

Excited for playable Casey Jones though. I might actually play this-- loved the old TMNT games on the NES/SNES and this looks like the evolution of those.

April in the 2012 tv series was a teenager and also got some martial arts training from Splinter at some point if I recall.

I beat Story mode today using just Mikey. After that I tried out all the other characters for a stage and its cool how they all have different moves, specials and taunts. Some of the taunts arent too interesting, but Donnie, Mikey and Raph have decent enough ones. Really loving this game so far.

Played with the family tonight.

This is solely based on the old cartoon, she didnt really fight there but it just makes it more fun to add her. Same for Casey in a way, he was only in like four episodes of the cartoon and his personality was completely different (he was like a goofy Dirty Harry impression)

Late in the original comic though she became the second version of Nobody, the masked vigilante who fought crime.

How long is this game?

Depends. Story mode with all the collectibles and challenges in it is probably in the 2-4 hour range. Going for all the trophies probably extends it quite a bit since one involves leveling all the characters to max and it took almost all of story mode for me to get just Mikey to max level. Havent tried Arcade mode, but theres stuff in that too so you can probably squeeze at least 20 hours easily doing everything

Stage 13 was a real bastard on Gnarly difficulty, took me like five tries to get through. Turned out I was missing a health refill part of the way through, but even with that I think I still got a Game Over one more time before clearing it.

The final boss is one of my least favorite types of boss (completely invulnerable until it arbitrarily does a certain attack after which you have like three seconds to attack) so that was quite a bummer. That kind of boss is especially egregious for a beat em up I think.

The final boss looks pretty awesome at least and I love the animations.

Im at 4/7 characters at max level in Story mode and 4/7 endings seen. Pretty much just replay every stage in the game to knock out both so Ive got 3 more clears left and then Ill mess around more with the other trophies I need probably. Game is a lot of fun and Id love to see a sequel or another series given this love. Imagine if they brought back some other beatem ups and polished them like this. This board would probably like to see The Simpsons one.

Streets of Rage 4 was great. This is great.

I'd love to see an actual good Final Fight sequel or reboot.

How's the online? I've heard a lot of complaints about it.

Online was great for me

There were a handful of times a stage wouldn't load up completely for one of the players and we had to restart the stage real quick, but other than that it was fine

I was playing last night with a group and this happened quite a few times. But it's so quick to fix, it wasn't too bad.
The game itself is so great! Tons of turtles nostalgia, great updated game play, and the levels are a good length. It's very good.

Ive only run into 2 minor issues so far. I didnt get the 7 story endings trophy despite beating story with every single character. The other was getting stuck for like 3s during an air dive attack on some spots, but it fixes itself so thats cool. It was kinda funny to see Casey stuck in a flying elbow drop just floating in the air. Ill probably try beating the last level with Casey and see if its picky and he needs to be the last clear or something. If that doesnt do it Ill try the last stage with everyone again and if that fails I guess the trophy is bugged

No damage challenge for the 3? stages that have them is so difficult. I always get hit by a stray object, an enemy kick my attack shouldve hit first anyways or thrown objects. Why do so many of them throw stuff. The one Foot in all black who constantly jump and throw crap are the most annoying of the Foot enemies. At least the only one trophy related is beating the final boss without being hit, but thats pretty difficult too. Shouldve been beating the stages without dying
