I do believe you planned to claim mason.. and that you also shot Chris last night as well expecting him to die.

Chris has no reason to playball with you after you confirm your power with him dead after you either lie and say he changed his mind on you or claim mason outright. So you have no incentive to not claim mason there once you got something from Chris to corroborate your power.

But, if you chose someone you expected to be alive, you can't do this... and choosing someone alive is the best plan for confirming your role anyways.

It was a one night only chat. 23 hours only it turns out. And then the next day I would have been able to choose someone else to chat.

And I'm not too concerned with confirming my role here because neighbors are expected to be scum anyway. Nothing confirming about it. I'd much rather get some use out of it

Honestly, regarding Ben, I'm going back and forth on whether he's scum or not. I want to believe he's being genuine with his reasoning of why he picked Chris and his actions that followed after. But they also just feel flimsy. However, I don't think I have any other good leads on scum besides Lea, but I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt given Sultan's scan. I only gave Lopen/Arti a hard time because I was never sure if their claim was fake or not, but I got an answer for that, so I'll give a pass for now but I likely need to do a reread.

I'm not sure I buy Corrik's argument that Ben neighbors Chris to claim mason and mafia also shoots him. Surely they would be expecting some protection on Chris. I'm not really sure we need to look too much further past Ben's stated reasoning where he would pretend that Chris' thoughts were his. Which I tend to agree with Chris on that that's more likely scum than town.

Lea, I was more probing you to see just how you would respond, and to see if there was inconsistencies, that was my agenda. I didn't mean nor want you to take it that way. Also, congratulations on the new job.

To Ulti, I believe Corrik actually said the same thing in my first game. I believed he claimed that both me and Chang, who played for the first time together, was alts because we "weren't playing like a new player". Which baffles me, because I am pretty atrocious at Mafia. Nothing you've been saying or doing leads me to believe you are town.

and honestly, I'm not doubting it. even he is smart enough to pull from both sides to avoid such attacks like this

however it's alot of his demeanor, the "mortally Confirmable", the shade at Chris for being alive, seeing how he acted in past scum games and town games. This game trends on his scum path. You can't argue with facts.

The only other option I considered was Scare for maximum memes and fun, but felt like while he was a better choice in FE since I was trying to recruit people that would live till end game, Chris was the best option with this role since it was really only useful to get players' input they could only share at night and will likely only be able to share that night. And that doesn't help for someone's night action results since chat ends before they get them back. So Chris is the person who would have the most useful day 1 thoughts.
