I'm neutral on them. I do tend to avoid them when i see one because I don't know what types are venomous off hand.

I don't hate them I just avoid them.

Wow! haven't seen a friggin' hog nose since I was a little kid in Ohio
It was laying in the middle of a hiking trail, turned upside down playing dead.

I've personally caught many snakes over the years:

Garter snakes, little brown snakes that don't bite but poop this smelly junk on you when you hold them, little grass snakes (the bright green ones), and a black racer once which I do not recommend anybody try lol

I saw what I think was a milk snake before too, it was curled up under a piece of metal in a cemetery a couple towns over from where I live maybe 2 years ago. Since I wasn't sure it was a milk snake I didn't try to grab it, as it had a brown, orange and black checked pattern and I'd never seen one in Massachusetts in all the years I've caught snakes (which goes back to the mid-80s). My luck it would've been some weird poisonous pet somebody got sick of and let go. If you aren't 100% sure it's non-venomous don't touch it.

But that black racer... it was in New Hampshire and under a cast iron tub in the middle of a field. My buddy and I lifted it up and saw a pretty big black snake coiled up and immediately knew it wasn't a garter (no yellow stripe on the back) but decided to catch it anyway. After putting it in a plastic container it turned really super-aggressive and was striking out at us, hitting the side of the container wall every time. At this point we were scared to let the thing out lol. Eventually we did and it took off into the woods. This snake was maybe 3 feet long at most, definitely the most dangerous snake I've ever held.

I just saw a video on wikipedia of a baby one playing dead. It's actually pretty cute.

No, I like them better then other creepy-crawlies. They're beautiful. Would not want to get too close to one of the few native venemous species in the wild however.

Snakes don't bother me now - but then again, I leave them alone when I see 'em.

I like snakes, but the fact they eat live animals (or you can thaw dead ones) is why I'm not sure I'll bother owning one. Plus they have a habit of pooping when they're on their owners. And the big ones are really messy.

They have these things, Sorry not curious enough to look them up but I am sure you could google them, that are sausage type things. I hear good things about them, personally I wouldn't bother with them. They are made from various animals the reptile would eat and comes in a verity of sizes. I even think I saw someone mentioning in one my my groups that the main company will even custom make you some for no addition cost. I mean, its still an animal dying to feed yours. But its now a sausage and not a body of animal you have to handle or watch them eat.

Yes, snakes are predators and not domesticated. Just because something is a pet, does not make it a domesticated animal. Domesticated animals are bred specifically to be around people as workers, pets, and food.

I thought snakes very rarely pooped? Dont they just barf up mostly what they dont digest?

Snakes barfing is very very bad. And they normally poop once a feeding cycle so depending on the size of snake, anywhere from 4 to 14 days

Snakes are cool. While they do target mammals which I usually am not cool with, as too me only mammals should be allowed to kill other mammals and anything else is pretty weird, but, at least it is only rats and mice most of the time, the lowest of all mammals. Pretty much mammal cannon fodder, so I give the snakes a pass.

No, I don't hate them at all.

The only snakes around here are garter snakes, and they are pretty much harmless. I might get surprised by one since they hide really well and you don't see them until they start moving. But I am not going to be scared and run away.

They dont bother me. My mom has always had a phobia when it comes to snakes though and its gotten worse over the years. I seriously think if she saw one in real life now that she would legitimately pass out.

I think the best theory is that they do the fish method, but the eggs are super tiny and they do it in the mud so it's very difficult for people to get samples. Also apparently they refuse to mate in captivity.
