Can someone give me a quick rundown on Home? So is it basically a pokemon bank? Like if i put my Zacian in it will I be able to put it in the upcoming Scarlet Violet games. If its in the bank can i not use it anymore in Sword?

Yeah, it's literally just pokemon bank. It has a built-in national dex too. You can transfer pokemon from Pokemon Bank, Let's Go, and Go to HOME, but you can't reverse it once they go there. Pokemon from Sword/Shield, BDSM, and Arceus and freely go in and out of HOME and can be used interchangeably between those games. Though in the case with Arceus, some moves and such might get deleted if they don't exist there.

Pretty much all of what Neon said except Home also only has a 30 Pokemon storage limit if you are using the free service. Also you'll only be able to transfer Zacian into Scarlet / Violet if it is present in the game data(Updates expand on transferable Pokemon) and the game allows you to transfer it into it via Home. Lastly, you cannot tranfer held items to other Pokemon games by having a transferable Pokemon hold it. So even if you were able to transfer Zacian into Scarlet / Violet you would need to acquire another Rusted Sword item.

Yup. They probably aren't going to have Home compatability for Scarlet / Violet at and around release. We might even have to wait as long as half a year as they made people do with Brilliant Diamond / Shining Pearl.

You'll also get some mystery gifts when you transfer Pokmon from the new games to Pokmon HOME a Rowlet, Cyndaquil, and Oshawott with maximum effort values on the app for Legends: Arceus transfers, and a Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup with Hidden Abilities for Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl in HOME. So it's well worth doing!

Actually, I've heard that the reason it took so long for BDSP is because of something to do with how ILCA coded the games.

If memory serves, it's basically like this: BDSP's Pokemon data is set up differently than Sword and Shield and all that. I think it might've had something to do with being made in Unity? I don't remember full specifics. But BDSP was basically incompatible with... everything else. So my guess is the reason it took so long was because they needed to find a way to convert it properly?

As for Arceus, I haven't heard of it sharing the same problem, so I'm just assuming they wanted to bundle it all together in one update instead of giving Arceus first, having to do maintenance, and then releasing BDSP compatibility and having to do MORE maintenance.

Unfortunately I don't have a source on this at this particular moment but I'm gonna try to find one. I know there were a bunch of twitter posts talking about the specifics. Not that Twitter is really considered a reliable source.

All that said, don't think I'm defending this: It IS ridiculous it took this long, and if I'm right about the reason for it, well, that shouldn't have BEEN a thing in the first place. But hey, better late than never... I guess.

All that to say, I'm expecting (read: hoping and praying to god) that SV compatibility won't take nearly as long, since Gamefreak are at the helm of this game and will probably just do things how they usually do. In terms of coding and everything else.

Don't use the bike as often because the initial acceleration sucks and while on the high speed setting it is a bit too fast and thus the controls suck.

...I'm not using the bike. This happens when my character is literally running. There were just issues with the game as it was taken 1 for 1 from the original and not actually adjusted for joystick movement.

It is. The only value BDSP has compared to other traditional Pokemon games is having all of the Gen 1-4 Pokemon in it and being able to use it to get some legendaries and mythicals(Mew, Jirachi and Arceus) if you have the necessary save data from other Pokemon games on your Switch system. To be fair BDSP still has the far better traditional Pokemon battle system compared to the shittier, dumbed down Legends Arceus battle system with a lot less moves, no multitarget moves, no abilities, no held items and odd stat formula changes, and at least it also has local and online trainer battles. Can't believe how bad Game Freak messed up on these Gen 4 games.

Arceus works, but some moves might get deleted on the way over and back

The reason it took so long to update is because there was a cloning glitch in BDSP and they were suuuuuuuuuuuuper butthurt about it and didn't even make an attempt at figuring out how to transfer things to Home until they had not only removed the ability to clone, but put measures in place to stop clones from previous updates being usable.

Not sure why Im being called out on it. Because yeah how dare I use my hard earned money to utilize an app for mass transfers and storage of all my Pokemon.

Yup, but that's the scam they are running with Home. To keep some Pokemon people have hostage on Home for their continued support via subscription.

No I do, I just didn't feel like going more in depth with it. The other part of the scam being that some of those Pokemon have no current destinations beyond Home in a game on the Switch, and thus are "stuck" there once transferred if not traded, and this is something that has been going on for years now.

This has been my biggest problem with home... I got over the games not having the National Dex... but not being able to at least bring everything over sucks... Lot of random ones I love like Minior are just trapped on Home indefinitely...

In other words you really dont have a point and just dislike the service for something that technically isnt the issue with the service as a whole but the main games.

Considering Game Freak / The Pokemon Company is in charge of the games and had Home made and be is the way that it is Home is just a part of the problem but a problem regardless. None of of your dishonest bullshit will work here.

But the only dishonesty is coming from you guys claiming its a scam just because it doesnt do one specific thing. Because lets be real the ability to transfer some or all Pokemon into games will still be based on the games period and not directly the app.

The app is doing what it is designed for. Storage and Transfers. Rather or not all games accept every Pokemon is irrelevant.
