The three of them walked into my row and I thought oh boy

Maybe 20 minutes into the movie the kid was out of her seat walking back and forth between the two parents

the Dad ended up putting her on his lap and giving her his phone to watch Youtube

yes, I could see the light from the phone and when the movie was silent enough i could hear the sounds from the YT video

There were probably about 3-4 recliner seats between my seat and theirs

Something similar happened for me. A family with 2 very young kids. One was playing on a tablet during the movie but the sound was off at least

Yeah, thats just being an inconsiderate shit.

Ive got 2 kids 6 and 4. The youngest is still too young to sit through a movie all the way through without getting distracted or the like. If they go to the movies, its one of the sessions targeted at kids. So they dont ruin the movie for everyone else.

If my wife and I wanna see a movie, the kids stay with the grandparents or we get a babysitter.

I wouldn't put up with that, I wouldn't want a confrontation so I'd go get a refund

Movie tickets are like $15 now fuck that shit.

I go to a place that has a no.phone policy and you'll get kicked out for being disruptive

Before my son turned 6, we went to go see The Batman in IMAX opening weekend. He sat for all 3 hours, he asked very few questions (he always whispered), and was engaged the entire time. If your kid cant sit and watch the movie, dont bring them. That sounds shitty, TC.

Yeah, its pretty shitty and Im at a point where I hate going to the movies these days because there are more and more inconsiderate people who dont give a shit about anyone else.

Lucky for me I had an afternoon ticket on Saturday with a pretty empty theater so I just moved two rows up and got away from them after it started bugging me

The wife and I just say fuck it and go to gold class, or whatever the equivalent would be. Where its just a few dozen recliners and you can order food and beers to be brought in to you.

Far fewer inconsiderate pricks, because if youre paying that much for a ticket, youre not gonna ruin it for yourself. We go to the movies so rarely its worth making a fun night of it.

Same for me, we had a crying baby somewhere in the audience, but he settled down after like the first half hour or so. It wasn't terrible altogether but it does make me wonder why somebody would bring a baby to a movie theater. That can't be good for their hearing.

Or at least, wait a few weeks so that the showing isn't nearly at full and sit further back if there is anyone else in the theater.

Yeah, it's a shitty thing to do. The only thing I can think of is that they have that mentality of still trying to do everything they used to do, even though money is tight (so no sitter). Hopefully the next time you go to a movie, you don't have to deal with anything like that.

True. That's what we did with into the spider verse when we took our kid to that one

*nods* good guy. Heck, I usually wait to see a movie just so I don't have to worry about it being packed. Afternoon viewing around the time some office workers are out but too early for students to be there unless they went straight after school. Noon to 2:30 start times. Worst I've ever seen was a couple making out so I moved forward a few rows from my preferred spot so I didn't have to hear them.

This. Because I know how hard it can be for some people to actually get out and see movies when you have kids. At least in this scenario at worst you ruin it for as little people as possible.

I recently went to a movie and this kid in front of me (like 18 or so) was playing Fortnite on his phone. The movie started, and he was mid game, but it was so distracting to me. I let him finish his game (I think he won, too) and then I was like aight we good now.. and then he started another one

i tapped him on the shoulder and said dude. You need to turn off your phone. And he was like SORRY and he never touched his phone again.

Im really not a stickler for things like this, if you get a text and need to check it, do it. But just outright playing a game? Nah.

Went to see it with my Mom a couple weekends back and there was a single dad with an older daughter and younger son in front of us.

Both kids were super well behaved, until the "horror" scenes started, then the little boy started freaking out until the dad gave him a phone, which shut the kid up. Probably the only time I've tolerated someone on a phone during a movie in my life, because the kid was clearly shitting his pants.

Worth noting MoM is PG-13 in the US and 14A in Canada, so I really put the blame on the dad for taking his son to a movie he probably wasn't ready for.

Yeah those people suck. My kid is only 2.5 years and she still feels nowhere near ready to go to the cinemas. Especially not something like Doctor Strange.

Her first movie I might be brave enough to take her to is Mario and even then I'm not holding my breath.
