Have you noticed rising prices at your local grocery store?

It seems prices across the board for everything have risen.

I clearly remember normally spending about $60 per week on groceries about 5 years ago. Now it's around $90 per week.

The Aldi I shop at has somehow managed to keep a gallon of milk at $1.69 while Walmart is up around $4.50 last I checked.

A 5 pound bag of shredded cheese was up to nearly $16 at Costco, it wasn't that long ago it was only $12.

Most grocery stores will keep staples like milk, eggs, etc stable and low and hide higher prices in stuff normally don't get often and may forget the price. Since you'd often buy those items every time you shop you'll notice increases more. But something like steak sauce, pasta, frozen whatever, not so much.

Exactly how is it Biden's fault that Covid did this? Covid caused all of the shutdowns (which happened Trump's presidency, a smart person would recall) which fucked up the supply chains and that caused the inflation. How bout you put the blame squarely where it should be? At Donald's feet since he ignored Covid as much as he could and even suggested injecting Bleach into your body.

$8 for nachos and 80 cents if you want jalapenos. This is just for store bought chips with cheese on top. For that price you can just go to a Mexican restaurant and get chips with cheese, gauc, salsa, sour cream, jalapenos, and a pound of meat.

Offering people more to stay home for starters, now no job seems worth anyone's time. Companies can't hire, they have to push up wages and then costs go up.
One company depends on another for a product, they're in the same situation and throw in gas prices and the reluctance to do anything about it and here we are.

Sure, lockdowns didnt help, but that was state to state and nothing to do with the Federal government.

It's so easy to blame the last guy or whatever situation is currently happening (inflation was already at 7% when the war began), but when **** starts to go down its time to swallow your pride and do something about it.

.. of course he doesnt need to, he's on his way out, so continuing excuses will suffice

I disagree with this benefit being the cause of current inflation but literally the only time people were making more by staying home was when unemployment was giving a $600 weekly bonus federally. That only happened while Trump was president.

How do people not manage to get that if unemployment was paying more than a job, then that job should pay more? Blaming someone who is paying a liveable wage instead of those tho neglected to for so long is as backwards as it gets. The "raising wages will raise prices" bit is getting old as well, because prices are already going up in practically every department except wages (due in no small part to corporate greed since *profits* have been going up in many places).

Indeed nothing to do with Biden. I'm in New Zealand, and the prices have increased in the last couple of months. Used to pay $10 for a block of cheese. Jumped up to $13.50 when I last checked. Jumps on other items aren't as bad, but seems nothing has been spared from increases.

No, he wasn't. As of now I have only seen 2 forms by which people plan to address this threat. One is UBI, and the other, which Bernie Sanders supports, is FJG. A federal job guarantee. Sanders talked about it repeatedly. The concept is not new; you can see references to it in a variety of Leftist organization's listed goals. The Black Panther Party for example:
We Want Full Employment for Our People.
That's point 2 of the 10 point program. Edit: I should mention that we have had other presidents who talked about a FJG as well. It will surprise no one that FDR talked about it, for example.

You might consider reading up on it. FJG is less likely to be pressured by inflation than UBI, as best as I can tell.
